Wow! As I reflect, I have come a long way; from a very humble beginning as a blogger to an enterprising author and a passionate trainer specialising in financial literacy, value creation and thinking skills.

With God’s grace, my journey turned out to be enlightening and challenging. As I journeyed through all the trials and tribulations, I too have gained in experience and insight. With his guidance and blessing, I managed to propel my enterprise forward.

It has been a tough yet fruitful journey by overcoming both challenges and obstacles from losing a child to battling with the big C…… and presently seeking sources of revenues to fund my kids’ tertiary education. I am indeed blessed that I never had to walk alone.
My partnership with God, truly make me view these tough times I’m experiencing are just temporary but have made me into a tougher and more persistent person.

As the years rolled by, I uncovered my passion for writing and developing training programs by sharing my expertise and experience in financial literacy, value creation and thinking skills. I hope that these courses whether they are carried out by me or anyone will be beneficial to the masses especially those who want to help their companies to strive and sustain their business.

Since I am passionate and committed to what I am doing, I have derived much pleasure, fun as well as excitement from developing these courses even though I was undergoing treatment for the big C.... . The side effects were horrendous but I managed to continue with their development. I am really grateful to God for sustaining me. Praise The Lord.

My vision and mission in life presently is to bring financial literacy to the masses and simultaneously earn an income from it. I have to be practical; I need to earn a living to feed my family as well as to fund my kids’ education. One day, with God's blessings, I hope to be able to bring my programs to the less developed countries.

MY FIRST POST CHEMOTHERAHPY CONSULTATION

My First post chemotherapy consultation

4 June, 2018 dawned bright and clear. I had to go to UMSC for my first post chemotherapy review with my oncologist. It has been more than a month since my last treatment. Sad and disappointed to say that I am still experiencing numbness in both my limbs. It was so bad that on one occasion that I couldn’t brake in time and knocked my neighbour's dustbin causing a small dent in my car. It is no doubt slowly improving and I am glad that at least I am able to drive, with faith in Lord.

My appointment was in the afternoon. So I volunteered to send my daughter back to her university to attend lectures this morning. I love sending and fetching her as it gives me the opportunity to bond with her.

Since completing my treatment, my appetite has improved a lot but my weight has only registered a minor increase. As usual I had to do the routine blood test and I am very happy to share with you all that the results has improved significantly. Thank you Lord for blessing me. On the whole my oncologist was quite happy with my progress. However he advised me to reschedule my Pat scan to end of September instead of end of June. I am a bit puzzled with his decision but I will abide by his advice.

I have to inform my surgeon of the change of date for my scan. I decided to do it at SJMC as Gleneagles does not have this facilty. Moreover it is nearer to my residence, thus more convenient. He also advised me to contact him one week before the scan so that he can make the necessary arrangements. Bless him!

Actually on the 4 June my childhood buddy wanted to bring me a one day trip to Sabak Bernam to visit the fishing village and thereafter to enjoy a scrumptious meal of fresh seafood. Indeed it would be very rush and I may not make it back for my appointment. My dear friend was kind enough to suggest that we go on Wednesday instead. I am indeed very blessed to have such a dear friend who is willing to spend time and bond with me. I really appreciate it very much and also very thankful for his friendship for the past 4 decades. May our friendship and comradeship continue to shine ! Indeed I am looking forward to this trip and many more trips in the future.

UPDATE AFTER MY CHEMOTERAHY TREATMENT

Dear everyone,

Greeting from Petaling Jaya.

As each day dawns I hope it will bring new hopes and beginnings for me. I would wake up every morning and hope that the numbness that I am experiencing in both my limbs will lessen, if not disappear altogether. Alas it only has lessen considerably but has not recovered entirely. I told myself to be patient for with time it will definitely dissipate.

This numbness has been with me for a few months and it is hampering my mobility which I find annoying. I pray to God to be merciful to me and heal me as fast as possible.

I need to get on with life and to earn a living. My two younger kids need me to sponsor their education. I am in dire need for funds as my son will be leaving for UK to complete his final year of study this coming September while my daughter will continue her medical course locally and later to complete it overseas. I have a heavy load to carry on my shoulder and I pray to God to lessen it.

Therefore, I pray to the Lord to pave the way for me and to get some training assignments that I can undertake to be financially independent and to discharge my uncompleted missions. Oh! Lord, I seek your assistance and mercies to fulfil my wish. Thank you. I can’t bear to disappoint my children and it is my hope that they can accomplish their dreams.

Once again Lord, I appeal to you to heal me completely and to shower me with your blessings and mercies to help me accomplish my desire of being financially independent. Praise the Lord.

MY FIRST WORKSHOP FOR 2018

Grace to everyone,

Time flies. It has been almost one year since my last training session. I am both excited and anxious to conduct this assignment after such a long break.

Since I have just completed my chemotherapy, I was a wee bit worried that i might not be able to withstand these two days' workshop. With God's strength bestowed on me, I could endure until the end. PTL.

It was indeed strenuous but with God's divine help, I could deliver all the materials I have prepared for the training smoothly and to the best of my ability. I am indeed very grateful that the participants were very keen to learn and were very proactive. There were a lot of brainstorming sessions among themselves based on the questions which I have directed to them. Apart from that, they were very enthusiastic and also voiced out certain problems they were facing. It was indeed very encouraging to see the rest of the participants actively discussing possible solutions to the problems. I was fortunate that I was able to learn a lot from these engaging participants. All of us had a good time with a lot of laughter and fun. Thank you, everyone, for the awesome feedback that all of you have given me. Hope to see you all in my upcoming training sessions.

I was also very glad to note that the participants were very diverse and from various industries. It has helped to open the eyes and minds of the participants to the different problems and situations that different industries are facing. It was good to see them exchanging ideas and sharing their experience. To me, no man is an island and it is vital to share ideas and expertise with each other. I trust this workshop on 3Ps bottom line blending with BOS, value-based authentic leadership and strategy will provide them with a head start and they will be able to implement or modify these ideas to suit the needs of their organisations especially in this globally challenging and competitive world.

With the success of this training, I hope to reach out to more people so that I can expose them to the basics of this course, and hopefully, they can adapt them to their needs to break through these tough times. To be able to do that, I need to ask the Lord to provide me sustenance and strength as I have just recovered from my illness.
My nerves have also been affected and it has hampered my ability to do many simple chores like writing, typing and etc.

However, I will not allow this handicap to deter me from conducting these training sessions as it is my passion.

Once again, I would like to thank the organiser for having the confidence in me though I have been out of action for quite a while.

It is our hope and intention that all participants can achieve sustainability by managing their resources appropriately and focus on the broader picture through the 3Ps in line with the title of the course.

Eureka Eureka

Few more days and my oral treatment which is the 12th and final course of my chemotherapy. After that no more ingestion of those harmful drugs. Farewell farewell. It has been a long 7 months of treatment requiring fortnightly visits to the hospital and the build-up of side effects; sometimes so torturous and painful that I wanted to give up. Fortunately, God has provided me the strength to overcome all these torments.

Apart from God, I am fortunate to have friends from far and near as well as siblings who would shower me with gifts of fruits or any products that they have heard to be good for the cure of C....... I am so grateful that I am always in their minds. They are constantly in touch with me to lend me moral support or to give me encouragement to persevere as well as to constantly upheld me in their prayers. Without them and God, I would be unable to continue on this arduous journey.

My friends are always thinking of ways to cheer me and they will ever willing to provide companionship to me. They will take me to savour the delights of nature such as hot springs, waterfalls or jungle trekking. As long as it will help speed up my recovery they are willing to sacrifice their time to take me. Many a time we would sit by the springs or waterfalls and reminisce and reflect on the good old days. These outings have proven to be very effective in motivating as well as to cheer me on.

I am indeed very blessed and I am very appreciative of their caring attitudes. They will forever be in my memory and I hope one day to be able to repay their kindness to me. I am indeed indebted to them.

I would also like to extend my gratitude to those who have been endlessly upholding me in their prayers. The Lord has answered many if not all of their requests. Thank you very much, my friends.

TURNING CRISIS INTO OPPORTUNITY

Grace to everyone,

Though I have the big C.... I refuse to let it drag me now. I need to be positive not only for myself but also for my family. My kids are still dependent on me and I also have an eighty years old mom to care for. I mean I also have to share the responsibility with my other siblings. Therefore I can’t break down. I have to constantly look for opportunities and to self-support as well as to earn a living to educate my kids. PTL for giving me endless opportunities.

Fortunately for me, I had the foresight to purchase an insurance policy to take care of my treatments for the big C.... I had to learn how to make claims to the insurance company for the hospitalization claims. Luckily almost all the claims have been reimbursed so far, thus easing my cash flow. I must thank my insurance agent who had ignored me and let me tackle my claims myself.

With this newly earned expertise, I hope to be able to share it with those in need. This enriched and past experience has also helped me to secure an appointment as a risk management consultant.

With this additional portfolio, I hope to be able to provide more comprehensive and complete financial services to both my existing and potential clients.

To strengthen our relationship further I hope you will give me an opportunity to demonstrate my ability by giving me a chance to review your existing policies and provide you with some advice as to how to maximize them with no obligation.

Thank Lord for sustaining me through this arduous period of trials and tribulations. Without Your mercies and compassion, I would not have walked through this journey for many a time I really felt like giving up. Though time was tough I am glad that You always urged me to continue and also encouraged me not to give up my writing and training. Thus I am able to publish my second article of the year.

Thereafter I will continue to focus on publishing more articles and books, provide risk management consultation as well conduct training programs for those who are keen. I will continue to dedicate my energy and talents to share my expertise and know how.

MY SECOND ASSIGNMENTS FOR THE YEAR 2018

Grace to everyone,

It has been almost one year since my last assignment. I am a wee bit excited to stand in front of an audience to conduct the training. I had to postpone my 11th treatment on 8 March to give a preview of my financial literacy course at the Majestic Hotel, KL.

Sometimes groggy as a result of the medication, I still need to prepare the course materials and to prepare myself to speak in public. Somehow or other I managed to deliver my materials to the best of my ability as well as with God's help. I was then scheduled for treatment on 13 March but it had to be postponed again as my platelet level had dropped below the permissible level. Hence it had to be rescheduled to the 20th March, a day after my course preview at the MIA premises.

Therefore on the 19th of March, equipped with all the materials and making myself presentable, I drove to the said premise. I was anxious and at the same time excited to conduct the preview. It went smoothly and the most important part was that I managed to carry it out until the end.

For this, I praise the Lord for giving me the sustenance and the strength to deliver the speech. It turned out to be engaging and delivered to the best of my ability. Thank you so much organiser for having the confidence in me though I have been put off action for quite a while.

I had used a lot of energy and perseverance to try to open the minds of my audience on the importance of creating a blue ocean in order to achieve sustainability in their organisations especially in this globally challenging n competitive world.

I was very happy as I was able to reach a diverse audience from various industries. Here we will able to share and receive know-how from each other. To me, no man is an island and it is important to be able to share ideas and expertise mutually. I hope after this preview, it will provide them a head start and they will be able to implement or modify the ideas to suit their organisation.

Our intention here is to ensure that all can achieve sustainability by managing their resources appropriately and focus on t broad picture through the 3Ps in line with the title of the course.
