Forgive and Move on
To forgive and forget is easier said than done. Sometimes a wrong is carried out unintentionally and if the person is really repentant then it may be easier to forgive. However if wrong is very harsh and it has hurt you a lot deeply it may take time to forgive. Time heals but how long no one can pinpoint.
It is easy to let out our anger without thinking of the implications. Therefore it is better to think carefully then to seek forgiveness later. No doubt like I mentioned earlier to forgive is not easy but nevertheless, we have to try our best to forgive for no one is perfect.
Therefore to make the act of forgiving easier I have mapped a few strategies which I hope can help:-
Express Yourself Sincerely
In contemplating to seek forgiveness from someone it is best you express yourself sincerely. Explain why you did it. Be honest and sincere.
Whether it was done intentionally or unintentionally it has to be explained explicitly so that the person who you have wronged can see that you have really repented. If you can genuinely express regret n vow that it will never happen again.
Then I think it should be forgiven. To me, the most important criteria to consider when granting forgiveness are truly sorry and truly repentant as well as sufficient assurance that it will not happen again
Positive Outlook
I believe that by journaling the incident, either you were the victim or the perpetrator, will help you to better analyse the situation. This will, in turn, help you to reflect the situation and see how severe it is. However no matter the level of severity is best to look at the positive side and forgive so that you can move on. Bearing grudges or unforgiveness will not benefit you and will definitely not make you a happier person. Letting go and move on is the best option.

Cultivate a Healthy Mind
Always choose to think positively as it is the best way to manage stress. By thinking positively means using positive words rather than negative words. This will, in turn, be reflected by your actions and behaviour. If you are constantly aware of this you will be careful with your words and will be unlikely to hurt anyone. If no wrongs committed means no need to seek forgiveness.
Hope you will find the above useful. Remember to watch our words and behaviours at all times so as not to hurt or wrong anyone. If everyone adheres to these practices the world will be a more peaceful and harmonious place. Let us all play our part to make this world a happier place.
