Good character is important

Sucess will not long endure, without a strong foundation built on positive character traits. Time and people will able to tell.

As such, developing good character is paramount important. It begins with a positive attitude. Your desire to be a good, decent, honest, considerate person must first take place in your mind. Mind is one of the greatest gift from God, apart from Holy Spirit.

Once you decided to become a person of good character, you will also find that you are much more willing to do the right thing according to God's perspective because your conscious will tell you to do so.

Therefore, it is worthwhile to note that it is virtually impossible to fake good character. Phonies are quickly spotted because they do not have the substance and determination to maintain the charade.

People can see eventhough you don't say it out. Be wise and not fooling around your good self.

May more and more grace and peace be given to you.

Opportunity everywhere

Whenever ther is a crisis, there is an opportunity is in disguise.

CRISIS = OPPORTUNITY.

It is well reflected in its chinese character.

Similarily wherever there is work to be done, so do to the same amount of opportunity. It is always true that there is work to be done everywhere. So, stay focus on the opportunity, rather than indulge into the issue too deeply.

Whenever there are challenges, there are ways to solve it and create great value. The world is always fill with challenges.

If there are problems that must be solved, there are countless avenues that lead to solving it. There is no shortage of problems waiting to be addressed.

When you see obstacles piled on top of problems, you should be glad of them because there seems to be no end to the work that must be done, what are you really seeing? Then you're looking at great opportunity.

You're looking at a world in which you can truly make a positive difference. You're looking at an environment in which you can reach great heights by lifting up the lives of others.

Take a good look at all the work to be done, then step forward and get busy adding your own unique value. When you're looking at opportunity, be the person who transforms it into success.

Never give excuse. Just do it without complaining or arguing. Complaining or arguing needs time.

So, spend your time wisely and meaningfully.

To develop to the fullest of your potential

Hope this small story will make a BIG change in you..........

Professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it. He held it up for all to see and asked the students,' How much do you think this glass weighs?

''50gms!' .... '100gms!' .....'125gms' .....the students answered.'

I really don't know unless I weigh it,' said the professor, 'but, my question is: What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?

''Nothing' the students said.

'Ok what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?' the Professor asked.'

Your arm would begin to ache' said one of the students.

'You're right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?'

'Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress and paralysis and have to go to hospital for sure!' ventured another student and all the students laughed.

'Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change?'Asked the professor.

'No'' Then what caused the arm ache and the muscle stress?' The students were puzzled.

'Then how can I be released from this stress?' Asked the professor again.

'Put the glass down!' said one of the students.

'Exactly!' said the professor.

' Life's problems are something like this. Hold it for a few minutes in your head and they seem alright. Think of them for a long time and they begin to ache. Hold it even longer and they begin to paralyze you. You will not be able to do anything. It's important to think of the challenges (problems) in your life, but EVEN MORE IMPORTANT to 'put them down' at the end of every day before You go to sleep. That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh and strong and can handle any issue, any challenge that comes your way! 'So, as it becomes time for you to leave office today, Remember to 'PUT THE GLASS DOWN TODAY! '

So, act now before you regret..

Love

One day, Plato asked his teacher,
"What is love? How can I find it?"

The teacher answered,
"There's a large wheat field in front. Walk there without turning back, and take just one leaf. If you can find one leaf that you think is extraordinary, it means you have found love."

So Plato walked .. and not long after that, he came back empty-handed.

The teacher asked him, "Why, you don't bring any leaf?"

Plato said, "I can only bring just one leaf and when I walked through the wheat field I can't turn my back. Actually I have found one extraordinary leaf, but I don't know whether there's any other leaf more extraordinary, so I didn't take that leaf. When I walked further, I realized that the leaves I found are not as extraordinary compared to the leaf I've found earlier in my walk.In the end, I didn't take any single leaf."

Then the teacher told him, "So .. that is love."

Some thoughts:
The more you look for love, you will find nothing. Love is in your heart, when you can control your desire and your hope to find something better. When you have endless hope and wish of love, you will only get emptiness... because you won't get anything and time can not be turned back. Accept love for what it is.

So, now you should know what to do...

Oh Lord, you see what's in the heart,
There is nothing hid from You,
So help us live the kind of live,
That's filled with Love for You and everyone,
Let Your word fill our heart,
rule our heart, and guide our tongue,
Let us be Your embassors for life.

Have a good day,

to live meaningfully

To live meaningful, you must fill your time with action, with love, with meaning, with purpose, with richness and with life. God is very fair – He gives everyone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Time keeps coming in an endless procession, and as soon as one moment is finished, another one begins. The problem is not that time has gone away, for it has not.

So, make full use of it. Fortunately, that is a situation everyone can change right now, if he wants to.

It is worthnotely that you can make a great difference if you simply make the commitment to do it. Stop wondering where the time has gone.

Resolve now to put the time you have to meaningful and rewarding use, rather than wasting another minute regretting all the time you've wasted in the past. Never let the past to hold you back and keep looking forward.

Act now and before you regret.

This story is good for those who don't find enough time

This is the original I received from my contacts; i didn't make it up myself; and do hope you do love it. Give ring me up for tea or coffee after you have read this.

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar...and the coffee... The story begin with :-

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled
up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter " I want you to recognize that this jar represents
your life. The golf balls are the important things-your God, family, your children, your health,
your friends, and your favorite passions-things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else-the small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the
golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal."

Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Trust you find the above enlightening.

Just walk

Someone sent me an email about the story, which i like to share it with you :-

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert.

During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face.

The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.

They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE.

The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?"

The other friend replied "When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away.

But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."

LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND T O CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them.

Do not value the THINGS you have in your life..>> > But value WHO you have in your life!

Cheers and trust you enjoy reading it.

Focus on the right thing

Here's the story:-

A group of working adults got together to visit their University lecturer.

The Lecturer was happy to see them. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

The Lecturer just smiled and went to the kitchen to get an assortment of cups - some porcelain, some plastic, some glass, some plain lookingand some looked rather expensive and exquisite.

The Lecturer offered his former students the cups to get drinks for themselves. When all the students had a cup in hand with water, the Lecturer spoke:"If you noticed, all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken up,leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal that you only want the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all you wanted was water, not the cup, but we unconsciously went for the better cups."

"Just like in life, if Life is Water, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups.
They are just tools to hold/maintain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change.""If we only concentrate on the cup, we won't have time to enjoy/taste the water in it."

If you stay focus on the right thing. Life is so meaningful.

Have a fruitful day,

James

Be Careful with what we say

Be wise and careful with what we say as we must do what we preach and not be hypocrite.

Keep a clear mind. Watch out anything that comes out from your mouth. The tongue is a small part of the body. But it brags a lot. Think about how a small spark can set a big forest on fire.

So, always remember that the wisdom that comes from heaven is pure - most important. It also loves peace. It thinks about others. It obeys. It is full of mercy and good fruit. It is fair. It does not pretend to be what it is not.

Those who make peace should plant peace like a seed. If they do, it will produce a crop of right living. What goes around will comes around.

Be careful with our mouths - it may either brings ruin or joy to our hearts - well demonstrated in the Scripture. Please wake up and pray to God to open your hearts.

O Lord, You see what's in the heart,
There is nothing hid from You,
So help us live teh kind of life,
That's filled with love for You,
Let Your word fill our hearts,
Rule our hearts, and guide our tongues.

May I sum up with :-

Proverbs 18:2 to 7
A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only in expressing personal opinion.
When wickedness comes, contempt comes also;
and with dishonor comes disgrace.
The words of the mouth are deep waters;
the fountain of wisdom is a gushing stream.
It is not right to be partial to the guilty,
or to subvert the innocent in judgment.
A fool's lips bring strife,
and a fool's mouth invites a flogging.
The mouths of fools are their ruin,
and their lips a snare to themselves.
The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels;
they go down into the inner parts of the body.

IF you have different understanding, may I pray that God will reveal even to you.

Have a fruitful day,

Be kind and Listen

A wise person said that it's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice. It is important because it comes with responsibility - nothing comes free except God's grace.

When you are talking, you are not listening and learning;
It's only when you listen that you learn.

That why God give you two ears and one mouth and not the way round.

Therefore, always remember to be nice to people, especially those who serve you, and listen to what they have to say - What goes around; will comes around.

God bless,

Don't worry

Yesterday is dead. No matter what I do and I will never bring it back.

Tomorrow hasn't arrived yet.

Worry has been described as "interest paid on troublr before it comes due."

AS Leo Buscaglia said, "Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow,
it only saps today of its joy."

So it is crystal clear that worry does not add any value to it. Wake up.

Yesterday is dead. Tomorrow hasn't arrived yet.

I have just one day and I'm going to be happy in it

Today is the day I am going to live with it.

So be happy and not worry about what tomorrow is going to be.

Today's issues are more than sufficient for you to tackle with.

So, keep on resolving on the current issues and enjoying every issue.

You shall be happy ,

That is the way you should follow.

Cheers,

Be yourself

If I tried to be like them,
who would be like me,

If I tried to spend money,
who would spend it on me,

If I tried to do right,
they should do right by me,

what I m really trying to say,
if I keep trying to be like everyone else I couldn’t be me.

The uniquiness of everyone of us has its own purpose,
So, BE YOURSELF and act to serve the world at large, and not your interest only.

What goes around will come around.
I say again, "what goes around will come around'"

God is watching us,

Think Before you act

Today before you think of saying an unkind word
Think of someone who can't speak

Before you complain about the taste of your food
Think of someone who has nothing to eat

Before you complain about your husband or wife
Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion

Today before you complain about life
Think of someone who went too early to heaven

Before you complain about your children
Think of someone who desires children but they're barren

Before you argue about your dirty house; someone didn't clean or sweep
Think of the people who are living in the streets

Before whining about the distance you drive
Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet

And when you are tired and complain about your job
Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another
Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down
Put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around

Life is a gift
Live it...
Enjoy it...
Celebrate it...
And fulfill it.

And while you are at it give love to someone today
Love someone with what you do and the words you say Love is not meant to be kept locked inside of us and hidden

So give it away "Give Love to someone today!"

Cheers and have a nice day,

Read this and let it sink into both your mind and heart

From my previous blog - life is a choice.

Trust you will find the story below, which I received from one of my contacts, inspiring and motivating.

Michael is the kind of guy you with execellent attitude we should learn form him. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!" He was a natural motivator.

If an employee was having a bad day, Michael was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation. Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Michael and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time.

How do you do it?" Michael replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have a choice today. You can choose to be in a good mood or ... you can choose to be in a bad mood. I choose to be in a good mood." Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or...I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or... I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life. "Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested. "Yes, it is," Michael said.

"Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junks, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live your life." I reflected on what Michael said. Soon hereafter, I left the Tower Industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

Several years later, I heard that Michael was involved in a serious accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications tower. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Michael was released from the hospital with rods placed in his back. I saw Michael about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins Wanna see my scars?"

I declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place. "The first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my soon-to-be born daughter," Michael replied. "Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or...I could choose to die. I chose to live."

"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked. Michael continued, "..the paramedics were great. They kept telling me that I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the Emergency Room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read 'he's a dead man'. I knew I needed to take action."

"What did you do?" I asked. "Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Michael. "She asked if I was allergic to anything. 'Yes, Ireplied.' The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Gravity'."

Over their laughter, I told them, "I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead." Michael lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude... I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully.

You can see attitude, though it is not everything, yet it can make lots of difference. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34.

After all today is the tomorrow you worried about. You have a choice now:

So, by now you should know how to react if you faced similar situation like the above. That show that you have learnt a good lesson from Micheal. Thank to Micheal for sharing such a wonderful experience with us.

Grace and peace to all,

James

Be happy and live meaningfully

Friends

Life is wonderful and let us not complaining about it. Accept it as it is because there is always a real good reason for it:-

Below are some of the real good reasons you should always thank for :-

* For the spouse who snores all night, because he/she is at home asleep with you and not with someone else.

* For your teenage daughter who is complaining about doing dishes, because that means she is at home and not on the streets.

* For the taxes that you pay, because it ! you! and that you are employed.

* For the mess to clean after a party, because it means that you have been surrounded by friends.

* For the clothes that fit a little too snug, because it means you have enough to eat.

* For your shadow that watches you work, because it means you are in the sunshine.

* For a floor that needs mopping, and windows that need cleaning, because it means you have a home.

* For all the complaining you hear about the government, because it means that you have freedom of speech.

* For the parking spot you find at the far end of the parking lot, because it means you are capable of walking and that have been blessedwith transportation.

* For the pile of laundry and ironing, because it means you have sufficient clothes to wear.

* For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means you have been capable of working hard.

* For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours, because it means that you are alive.

* For too many e-mails , because they mean you have friends who are thinking and caring of you.

Life is a choice of yours. Be happy or not, it is up to your to choose.

If you think you are happy; you are. If you think you are not happy; you are not. Both are equally right.

Trust you will exercise your choice wisely. Stay happily and live meaningfully.

Next Step Forward

Adversity is only temporary unless you give up. Adversity is good in the sense that it helps to elimate the wrong way so that you make changes and you will find a way to overcome it. Eventually you become more skilful than before. This is the process you have to go through if you want to become a polished diamond.

No doubt, adversity will not only affect you personally, but also affect the circumstances in which you live and work. Therefore it is paramount important not to let it affects who you are, or where you're headed, or what you're able to do.

In short, you should not let it expand further by allowing them to be part of you. Instead you should take control of yourself. Take note of the setbacks and adjust your plan/action so as not to repeat the same mistake. Slowly and steadly, you will be able to eliminate the worng ways and find the right way.

Therefore, we at Lift You Up Blog will urge you to use each instance of adversity as a valuable lesson for you to learn and create you an opportunity to redouble forward-looking efforts. Never let the adversity to hold you back.

Every day brings new value and new possibilities and tomorrow will be a better day. As such there is always a way to for you to move the next step forward to the path you have chosen.

Seek the step wisely today and acted upon it without much delay. Never let any mere circumstance to block you from moving steadily and joyfully forward in the direction of your dreams. Instead, take whatsoever blockage as a challenge for you to overcome so as to add color to your life, so to speak.

Cheers and wish you a joyful reading.
