Nobel Peace Prize: The Laureates

The nobel Peace Prize is a lifetime achievement award the Laureates (the persons the Prize is bequeathed upon) receive in recognition for their efforts and works for resolving a conflict and creating peace, coupled with humanitarian issues and others!

So give them a great honor and remember these Laureates - For Life.

Amnesty International
The non-governmental organisation which draws its attention to human rights abuses and campaigns for compliances with international standards was awarded the 1977 Nobel Peace Prized for its campaign against torture.


Frederic Passy (MR.)
Hailing from France, he was the first Laureate to accept a Nobel Peace Prize in 1901 for being the founder and president of Societe d'arbitrage entre les Nations who was responsible for resolving the Luxembourg crisis in 1867.

Hendry Dunant (MR)
Founded the Red Cross Society in Geneva, and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1901.

Kofi Adnan (MR)
United Nations was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001, and the representative was Kofi Annan from Ghana. This award was for their works and efforts for a better organised and peaceful world.

Martin Luther King Jr.
The very famous Dr. Martin from the United States was the receiver of the1964 award. The leader of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference was a fierce campaigner for civil rights and will remain in history as one who changes the history of US and the world.

Mother Teresa (MS)
The profound humanitarian and advocate for the poor and helpless won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1980 for her 45 years of hard work ministering to the poor, sick, orphaned and dying. She won India's highest civilian honor, the Bharat Ratna in 1980

Nelson Mandela (MR)
Though once a prisoner himself, the South African was still acknowledged as a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate (1993) for his work for teh peaceful termination of the apartheid regime, and laying the foundations for a new democratic South Africa.

Robert Cecil (MR)
In 1937, Englishman Robert Cecil was appointed as a Laureate,being the founder and president of the International Peace Campaign, a worldwisde peace movement that inspires other peace movements and created a chain reaction all around the globe.


Theodore Roosevelt (MR)
The president of the United States at that time was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1906 for his many nation-changing decisions towards peace, namely the peace treaty collaborations brokering the Traety of Postsmouth and ending the Russo-Japanese War.

Yasser Arafat (MR)
Yasser Arafat, together with two others, were the Laureates for 1944's Nobel Peace Prize. The Palestinian was awarded for his efforts to create peace in the Middle East.
