INTERNET WORLD

Dear valued visitors,

We read from Fullhouse.com.my and find that you need to know the information so that you can take full advantage of the available information.

Nowadays, people's decision to purchase a product or a service is highly influenced by the information available through the Internet. More and more people are relying on the internet to source for information ranging from real estate, news, food, entertainment, education etc.

In terms of real estate, people use the internet to search for listings, loans, market report, neighbourhoods etc which available to them anytime and anywhere. According to California Association of Realtors (CAR) 2006 survey, 86% of home buyers started using internet as part of their process before they started looking for a specific home. Clearly, the web has become an integral element in house hunting for most home buyers.

Therefore it is realistic to conclude that a website is critical for a business to reach their target audience in today's internet focused age.

Keeping this in mind, we have recently done a research to find out how many developers and real estate agents in Malaysia have their own websites. As it turns out, the result leaves much to be desired but for most of us, the percentage is somewhat predictable.

As the research shown, 24.9% of developers in Malaysia have company website to market their housing projects while 30.9% real estate agents in Malaysia also realized the impact of Internet and have their website to increase their competitive edge.

Selangor has the highest number of developers having company website, which is 32.0% out of total 425 developers' websites from all over Malaysia. Followed by WP Kuala Lumpur with 17.2% and Penang 12.7%. Terengganu is at the bottom of the list with only 0.5%.

All three states are big cities with better advancement in facilities and technology, it is no doubt that their percentage are higher compare to others. The developers with no company website are advised to create their Internet presence quickest possible to avoid from being left behind.
A total of 335 real estate agents (30.9%) out of 1083 agents covered in the survey have website. The top three states with the most real estate agents websites are the same as developers with a slight difference in sequence. Top of the list is Kuala Lumpur real estate agents with 27.2% having websites, followed by Selangor at 24.78%, and Penang at 14.03%.
