ANOTHER GREAT ACHIEVEMENT BY MALAYSIAN

Dear friends,

Further to our recent article on "Can Do" spirit, we write to bring you another great achievement attained by another Malaysian, which many of you may know of. He is none other than Mr. Ong See Lian, who will be the 130th president of the London-based professional body beginning July 4 for the 2011-2012 session. Big congratulations to Mr. Ong, who is standing tall on the world stage as the Royal institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has, for the first time in its 143-year existence, elected a non-British president.

This healthy move is very welcome and encourage more nations to follow suit.

Mr. Ong, the 60-year-old man from Petaling Jaya, attributed his secret of success to his unwavering dedication to work. This is a well established and proven success formula, which the readers can also apply it to achieve their success.

To him, commitment and putting his best are two main successful ingredients which got him recognised and honoured to be elected. He is very proud to be a Malaysian. In this connection, we at this blog, are deeply proud of him and his achievement and trust he will be another great model for us to follow. This well illustrated the point that there are Malaysians who are working hard to bring back its former glory silently.

It was also reported that he hope this appointment will spur Malaysians forward due to the fact that our knowledge is world-class. As such, he urged Malaysians to have confidence and know how to articulate our ideas to others, he also attributed his election to being able to communicate with members in UK and China. This opportunity has opened doors to those who are pursuing in this direction of success.

During the recent exclusive interview with the Star at his Mutiara Damansara home, he sees one of his primary challenges as the new president of RICS is to engage more UK members to see the relevance of expanding into Asia, which has been registering the highest economical growth due to China factor.

Here, we write to take this opportunity to wish him all the best and we trust he has all the capabilities required to bring himself greater success.

In this connection, we trust the above news will inspire us to be better than what we can, in line with our 'Malaysian Boleh", can do, spirit.
