HAPPINESS IS YOUR CHOICE
Greetings from Malaysia.
We, at this blog like to wish all Muslims "Selamat Hari Raya" and Happy National Day to Malaysians.
In conjunction to this festive season, I am so please to receive an invaluable gift of lovely and inspiring article, from our Chief Editor, Mr. Loh Lawrence. I found it so uplifting and decided to share it with all of you, with the hope that you too have a feeling like I did. Please feel free to share out your feeling after you have read it.
As we always advocate that life is a choice. You can choose either to be happy or unhappy, very much depending on how you direct your thought to it. Without much delay, you may proceed to read the article appended below. For those who want to refresh themselves on my preceding article on this related article, please click the link below.
For those who find it ridiculous, please don't give it up but continue to read it because it is truth you ought to know. I must say that the article below have reaffirmed what we have said much earlier.
Subject: Happiness Is An Inside Job
Happiness Is An Inside Job
Author: Mac Anderson & BJ Gallagher
When I travel on business, I like to talk to the taxi drivers who take me from the airport to my hotel, or to a convention center, or to a restaurant. Taxi drivers are often immigrants with interesting personal histories and unusual cultural backgrounds. I ask them how long they've been in America, how they chose which city to live in, and what they like best about where they live.
Of course, I also ask them for advice on good local restaurants and any special attractions they'd recommend to a visitor. I've had some great experiences on my travels, thanks to the advice of taxi drivers.
On one trip about ten years ago, I was making conversation with the taxi driver, asking him my usual questions about how he came to live where he lived. Then I asked him a hypothetical question: "If you could live anywhere in the world --- and if money was no object - where would you live?"
Without hesitating even for a second, he replied, "I live in my heart.
So it really doesn't matter where my body lives. If I am happy inside, then I live in paradise, no matter where my residence is."
I felt humbled and a little foolish for my question. Of course he was right - happiness is an inside job. He had reminded me of something I already knew, but had forgotten. If you can't find happiness inside
yourself, you'll never find it in the outside world, no matter where you move. Wherever you go, there you are. You take yourself with you.
I am grateful for the wisdom of that taxi driver. And I'm grateful for all the wisdom others have shared with me about how to be happy.
By now we believe we have everything possible to ensure you also reap this fruits, as Valuable readers of this blog.
Stay tuned and more inspiring articles are in the pipeline for your benefits.
To our Success,
James Oh

NEVER TOO LATE
VERY WARM WELCOME TO THIS UPLIFTING BLOG,
Her motto "NEVER TOO LATE" sounds very familiar to me and I have prescribed to this formula very successfully. As such, I like to share with you with my experience because I have achieved some success through this formula. That's why I dare to step forward to vouch for this formula, with the hope that you too will prescribe to it without any hesitation. At least, we have done every possible means to pass the benefits to our readers, as a token of our appreciation for reading this uplifting blog.
I recalled when I was introduced to this motto for the very first time and I was so excited. It instantly touched my heart so deeply. Today, I have the great pleasure to share with my blog readers, who have taken the initiative to make life changing decisions to pursue their dreams. Here, I strongly believe that it is the main driving force for the award winning author, Miss Delphine who I had interviewed not long ago. I must thank her for this inspiration as it is her motto that helped her worked toward the destination she wanted. Big thanks to her. This serves to generate powerful and durable stamina for her years taken to complete her novel. Amazingly awesome.
Here, she illustrated the point well that she is not only a brave lady, but also have the courage to act upon her dreams no matter how many obstacles were ahead of her. Her right attitude of never look back is also worth to be praised and followed.
She was even able to lay foundations for her publishing company, when she almost completed her novel at the stage of putting the finishing touches to it. It would be very interesting to know how she could cope with it so well. We are pretty sure that this could really opened the eyes and affirmed the beliefs some of us have here - you can do more than one thing simultaneously, yet still stay focus on the Big goals you have, exactly like her. Hope we are not confusing you. Very well done, my friend, Delphine.
There is a certain way, though not easy, but in time can be very rewarding. With that in mind, we hope you could give her your support if this is the book of your liking. Her book of getting lost in the masses would not have happened. Thank you in advance.
It comes timely to empower me to pursue many of my unfulfilled dreams. With this motto, I strongly believe that it can reaffirm my belief and to be a much more forward looking person, who begins life with more energies to accomplish what I hope to achieve.
I am very fortunate to have her here. I must admit that I have so much to learn from her and felt indebted to her for the Value, she has shared with us during the interview. Thank you so much, Delphine.
To sum up our today's discussion, I would say that it is very fulfilling and uplifting and hope you too have the same feeling as I did. I felt that I have so much to learn from her. To repay her for what she has done for me, although she never asked from me, I like to share the poem below with her.
It's never too late to say SORRY if you need to.
It's never too late to say THANK YOU when someone does you a favour no matter how small it is.
It's never too late to GIVE BACK to the world that you live on.
It's never too late to LOVE the world you are part of it.
It's never too late to REWARD anyone who deserves it.
It's never too late to PRAISE someone who has done well.
It's never too late to FORGIVE someone who hurt you.
It's never too late to SHARE with any stranger who you care.
In short, it's never too late to do everything for GOOD.

James Oh

OUR BELATED LOVING DATO' FATHER'S JULIEN - 7TH ANNIVERSARY AT SEPT 11, 2011
A very warm welcome to this uplifting blog,
As September 11 is approaching soon, many of us may recall the memorable day when the US was attacked by terrorists in her homeland where many thousands of innocent people were killed.
On the other hand, that day also reminded me of a great figure, Dato' Father A. Julien ( Feb 25, 1917 - Sept 11, 2004) who was called back to the Lord on Sept 11, 2004. See the photos yourself.
As such, this Sept 11, 2011 is coming to be his 7th anniversary. Thousands of people turned up during his funeral and many still remember him for life. I write about him, not because both of us have the same birthday or his Chinese name is the same as my Chinese sir name. But far more than these commonalities we both have. Please read further, you will then discover how he had impacted my life.
To read more about his background, please click the link below:-
http://liftyouup.blogspot.com/2010/06/heng-ee-high-school-and-its-founder.html
or you may click at the title of this post.
He had touched many thousands of peoples' heart especially the Chinese community in Malaysia, who did not believe then that he, a foreigner, would set up the Chinese school in foreigner's land. With the grace from the Lord, he was able to sustain and endure all the pains and discomfort during the period when he began to deliver his mission. Thank God that he eventually delivered his mission that turned so many peoples' heart from disbelief to belief. He then gained an honour and was well regarded as a highly respected figure by people from all walks of lives. For those who know him well, will not have a dispute about it. Please come forward to praise him that he so truly deserve.
I can't imagine what many of us would be if he had not built the Chinese school in this land. As such, we are indebted to him very much and wouldn't be able to repay him all of our lives. He had also touched our lives so much and not one of us will forget him. Though he had gone, his spirit remains. He will be remembered forever. It is my great pleasure to have a chance to write a small column in my blog so as to give him an honour he well deserved.
I recalled that he, in his life time, he will always stand by to extend his help to anyone in need. He knew that majority of the students are from poor families and he always gave us encouragement to do better in our lives. He always cultivate good values into our lives. I must say that his motivation and encouragement had really made me do the extra miles. I must thank him for my success, which would not have been achieved without his efforts. He is one of the great people who really had a great impact on my life.
With this in mind, I know there is no way I can pay him back whatsoever he had done for me. At least, I will follow his footstep to give back to the society what I have been benefiting from. The articles which I share with you from day one is also the way I had learnt from him. By doing so, I, at least feel much better by playing my small part to uplift others who may need it. This is another way for me not to put his efforts and actions into waste.
Last but not least, I hope more people will step forward and follow his footsteps to leave a resounding good legacy behind, exactly like what he had done for many of us.
Thanks and together we will make a better tomorrow for the human beings in this planet. His departure is a great loss to Malaysia as a whole, particularly Penang where he had built several schools there.
Though he is gone, his spirit is still with us forever. Thousands of people still remember him despite he had left this planet more than 6 years ago. Our school even built a statue to remember him. No doubt all these things cannot match his contribution to our society as a whole.
His humble personality and smiling face always enlighten us. I must say that He is a man of great honour, who never expect any reward for his good work. By doing so, he gain substantial respect from anyone who had dealt with him one way or the other.
For students, I hope that this article will in some way encourage you to be better persons.

HOW TO HANDLE CHALLENGES IN LIFE
VERY WELCOME TO THIS UPLIFTING BLOG,
LIFE, in itself, is uncertain and unpredictable, however life is created for us to enjoy. Surprises and excitements are put in place to spice up our lives. As such, it is never perfect in the way we want. It is just like a pendulum- swings from one direction to the other. At times, it may even swing to the direction that is not our desire or in the opposite direction that we wanted. This is the law of nature.
Both ways are equally good if you look at it from the right perspective. Some of you may still wonder why I say so. This is because if it swings to the direction you want, then you need to congratulate yourself because it indicates that you are taking the right path. However, when it swings against the way you want, then be not too sad about it. This is because it indicates to you that this is not the right path and you need to alter your paths if you still want to pursue the success you want.
By now, you can see clearly why I say you should enjoy both ways and not let issues such as problems, stress, failures, fear and worries to define and control you. Be mindful that it will make you captive and you cannot escape from it, if you are not careful.
Through the years, I have learned life is precious and determined to appreciate every moment of it. As such, make our lives with more spices. This is the way our intended purpose of passing these benefits to our blog readers, in a way to lift you up and let you shine your life like us. We can try all possible means, but to be effective, you have to act on your part. Otherwise, sad to say that no one can help you. We are not rude to you here, but to let you know the truth. Hope you understand our intention.
I must admit that the following sound very familiar to me. I do not know about you. I recalled when I was a child, I cannot wait to be a man. Now, I am a man but sigh for the lost happiness of childhood days at one time. When I was unmarried, I was worried about how to get married. Fortunately, all these are my past and never want to repeat this mistake anymore.
Today, I view life as a journey with challenges along the way. I will live my life with viable solutions to overcome them, just like any sailor who sail their ships in ocean and chose not to anchor it at the harbour because it is never created for that intention in the first place.
However, for those who comprehend that there is a way to deal with those problems, fears, worries and other things that upset them. Then, I congratulate them.
However, I like to share some of tips where you can employ to overcome your problems.
1. Confront Your Problems
What is the best way of solving our problem? Avoiding or escaping problems by using drugs and drinking alcoholic drinks definitely will not help solve problems permanently. The problem will not disappear by itself, until unless you find a way to confront and conquer it, once and for all. Let face it, we won’t be given a problem far beyond our capability. Sometimes delays in facing it may bring greater adverse outcomes.
2. Confide it with a trusted person
Telling it to someone, you are comfortable with and trusted, will ease your problem. You may do so with family, relatives, or friends. Talk it out to someone whom you believe can help you to lighten your burden.
3. Smile and laugh it out
Smiling generally gives positive impact to any person. It cannot solve the problem by itself, but make it much easier to solve problems than for the one who does not smile. Optimism will widen the window of your eyes. Believe that there are no insurmountable problems at all. Trust I, problems that come your way will always have its accompanying solutions. Be more positive and vigilant.
Similarly laughing it out will be another useful way to ease problems. It will also relieve yourself from unnecessary tension/pressure. Otherwise you will be drained out and unnecessarily creating more harm to you. Be mindful that stress is number one silent killer nowadays.
4. Count your blessings
Always count your blessings and not your woes. We need to stay positive no matter what situation we are in. You may think that it is easier said than done. We cannot expect sunny day daily, but we can still enjoy rainy and cloudy days. Be mindful of the saying, “I complained that I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet.” It well illustrates the point that there are people who may be experiencing worse problems compared to what we are experiencing now. So, make good use of the saved complaining time to do something better for yourself. That is our point.
5. Generous in helping of those in need
Making good use of your time in helping other people will bring you happiness. This is an old Chinese saying. This will also make you feel good and be useful to the society which you have been benefiting from. Giving is always better than receiving.
6. Do a review/ reflection when necessary
Obviously, problems come and go. What had caused you to burst into tears towards anger will soon be forgotten tomorrow. When you reflect on your past problems, you will be surprised to find how foolish you are if you continue to be unhappy.
You should realize, by now that you can put unhappiness to an end by doing or thinking something else. You can choose to stay happy or be unhappy.
Trust today's discussion is of great assistance to you.
Thanks and look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to share with us some of your experience which we may not be aware of.

GLOBAL RECESSION OPPORTUNITY - HOW TO TURN IT TO YOUR FAVOUR
Very warm welcome to this uplifting blog,
Globally, everywhere is flooded with all the bad news, reported by most of the newspapers, magazines and almost all the media. Therefore, it is hard not to be affected by this news one way or the other. How we are going to deal with it? Here, you may want to share some of your success stories here. Please be reminded that you are always more than welcome to communicate with us. As we have stated before and do not mind to repeat that it is always our intention to make this uplifting blog as a platform to engage with our readers and visitors.
Before I proceed further, I like to share with you the old joke about hard times, which some of you may have heard. It began like this - when your friends are unemployed, it is recession. When you are unemployed, it is depression. Well, you have a choice, either to believe it or reject it.
However it is sad to see people normally get stuck in their beliefs about economy. The issue here is if we worry that there will be inflation or deflation, our attitudes will somewhat cause us to have difficulty because of recession or inflation. Hence, lots of energies are not only wasted, but it may even affect your health. Ask those who had gone through recession or deflation or inflation, how they overcame these? Perhaps some of you like to say something on this.
We must say here - no matter how tough things get, you just can't let them get to you. Be mindful that tough times never last, but tough people do. We hope you get what we mean here. You may click the link below to read our preceding article on this.
http://liftyouup.blogspot.com/2011/03/tough-times-never-last-tough-people-do.html
Please be reminded that you have got to program yourself to keep expecting and generating boom times. If you keep this healthy attitude, you will soon be booming. We know you may want to tell us that it is not easy, which we do agree with you. However, we must be aware that our minds and imaginations can help us to ride out, to rise above and even prosper in times of both recession and inflation. Trust us, this is not what we said only, but it is a well accepted proven recipe by all the world class motivation gurus. Moreover, it is also accepted truth that our minds cannot differentiate between real and unreal.
One good example is that Delta Airlines doubled the number of airplanes they owned during recession. They told their employees, "We're going to keep all of you working.” The employees were so thankful they helped Delta pay for the planes! Similarly, the word 'Crisis' is well reflected in the Chinese character as opportunity or threat, depending on its beholders.
Therefore, it is safe to say that hard times are just nothing more than a state of mind. Change your state of mind and it will change everything you see. Once you do so, you can change the quality of your life, no matter what happens to the economy.
So, we shall throw the ball to your court and let you give the above discussion a deep thought. Please let us have your feedback thereafter. Choice is yours and we share with you in the hope that you are in a way prepared for this, you will then ride the wave of the tide as it comes.
We have done everything possible to lift you up and if anything else you can think of, please do let us know. As you are well aware the purpose of this blog is always explore the best possible mean to lift our readers up in whatsoever situation they are caught in.
Please do help us to achieve our objective as the name of this blog suggests. Let the logo below shine on us so that we all stay shining at all seasons, like the sun.
Thanks and do stay on reading the articles which are in the pipeline so as to further strengthen us together to face the greater challenge in the near future.
Seeing you again.

HEALTH IS KEY TO WEALTH
VERY WARM WELCOME TO THIS UPLIFTING BLOG,
It is an undeniable truth that HEALTH is our greatest wealth and asset. No matter how much Money, Fame and Success we have it means nothing without our health. Ironically, you often see people spend more efforts and times on their assets such as car than their body and mind. I must admit my past mistake of sending my car regularly for service as per the recommended service manual rather than paying attention to my body and mind.
One of the frequently asked questions I received is how I stay so healthy all the time. The simple truth is that I spend a lot of money and time on being healthy. I never regret and always consider it to be one of my wisest investments. I have learned that I must be fair to my body and take good care of it so that my body can support me and create vitality, energy, and good health for me! Similarly, it also slows down my aging process, which I consider another bonus and great motivator to me.
As you may be well aware, I believe that prevention is always better than cure. As such, the hard truth is I have to invest in myself, no matter what. I must ensure that I am in good shape before I can help others, in line with the safety announcement made in the flight. You may think it is a selfish act, which I did initially. After my second serious thought, it makes lots of sense to me now. Choice is always yours. You can either choose to spend money; on good body maintenance and prevention now or use your money later, trying to recover from ill health. You will reap what you sow according to the natural law.
Regardless of what your current state of health is at this moment, you have the power to improve it if you choose and believe so. Every day we come in contact with millions of bacteria, allergens, viruses, and fungi and sad to say that only the tiniest fraction of these may lead to disease. This is a reality, which we cannot avoid it, but we can do something to prevent it.
It is interesting to note that people who consider themselves “too busy to get sick” are known to have above average health, while those who worry excessively about disease fall into poor health more often. Likewise, I have often said and don't mind repeating here "worry does not solve problem but worsen the problem'. So why worry? That is my question.
Never too late and start NOW and be good to yourself. Do something of great favour to your body, regardless of whether it’s getting more sleep, some exercise, healthy food, or some fun time! Equally important is while you are taking better care of your body you could also be feeding your mind with positive uplifting information. One of it is reading the materials in this blog, which is written from time to time with the main objective to lift you up, as its name suggests.
Happy reading and work toward achieving your great health and wealth.

FIRE EATING PERFORMANCE; MY REAL EXPERIENCE
Happy day to you,
The above photos were taken during my fire eating performance, under supervision of the appropriate personnel. The reason I share with you all is to reaffirm my point again that you too can overcome any fear by confronting it and not ignoring it. I have also illustrated this point much earlier in my article at the link below.
The above pictures did not really reflect the most exciting point when I put the burning fire into my mouth. However, I have many witnesses who were present at that time. I pride myself of walking the talk and not otherwise. My purpose of doing so is that I hope to lift you up by letting you know the truth, that you are affected by your thoughts, actions and words. As such, it is critically important that you have the appropriate right mindset to make you healthy and wealthy.
Be mindful that our minds cannot distinguish between real and unreal. As such, it can be easily manipulated, depending on how you perceive things Once you put it in the positive zone, then it will attract all positive elements. Conversely, if you think otherwise, then it will attract all the negative elements as advocated in the law of attraction. Now, the choice is yours.
Below please find the definition of the spectacular performance and its history for your better understanding. Please note this exercise is very dangerous act, therefore proper care and supervision by the relevant experts is strongly required.
DEFINITION FROM WIKIPEDIA
A fire eater is an entertainer, often a street artist or part of a sideshow. The performer places flaming objects into their mouth and extinguishes them by cutting off oxygen. They also practice controlling and transferring the flame.
History and hazards
Fire eating was a common part of Hindu, Sadhu, and Fakir performances to show spiritual attainment. It became a part of the standard sideshow acts in the late 1880s and is often seen as one of the entry-level skills for sideshow performers, although skilled fire performers, such as those who can utilise the difficult and dangerous vapour transfers and produce large breaths of fire are regarded as equals in the circus community for their skill and devotion to their art. Such performers include record holder Preacher Muad'dib, Lucifre, Heavy Metal Pete, Murrigan Mystic Tom Black and Chris Riley all of whom are known as exceptionally skilled performers within the circus and sideshow industry.Other than sound fire safety precautions and some practical advice regarding the laws of physics (i.e. "hot air rises"), there are few secrets to eating fire. Torches do not burn with "cold flames" nor is there any special substance in the performer's mouth other than saliva. According to Daniel Mannix's 1951 sideshow memoir Step right up!, the real "secret" to fire eating is enduring pain; he mentions that tolerating constant blisters on your tongue, lips and throat is also necessary. Many other fire eaters dismiss this, claiming that a skilled fire eater should not burn themselves, but since the art of fire eating is kept quite secret it is hard to ascertain exactly how it is done. Fire eating and fire breathing (and all variants) is a skill usually passed on for a skilled master to an appropriate student and almost all teachings include instructions on first aid, fire safety, chemistry and other appropriate skills.
[edit] Famous fire eaters
The most famous fire eater in history is Robert Powell who not only swallowed fire but also red-hot coals, melted sealing wax and even brimstone. He performed, often in front of British and other European royalty and nobility, for nearly sixty years and was awarded in 1751 a purse of gold and a large silver medal.[1]Although not the earliest, the first to attract the attention of the upper classes was an Englishman named Richardson, who first performed in France in 1667. His methods were subsequently made public by his servant.[2]
[edit] World records
The most torches extinguished in one minute with the mouth is 83 and was achieved by Preacher Muad'dib on Nov 18 2010 at Potter's Field, UK. [3]A fire performer from Germany, Hubertus Wawra (also known as the Master of Hellfire), holds the world record for extinguishing 39 torches in 30 seconds. It should be noted that as the record for most torches eaten in one minute is 83, meaning the record holder ate an average of 41.5 torches in 30 seconds this record is, whilst valid, considered arguable.[4]
New York City-based fire performer Flambeaux (Chris Reilly) holds the world record for keeping a lit torch in his mouth for 55.53 seconds. This is not a Guinness world record.[5]
Thanks for your continuous support and we believe by constantly feeding your thoughts with all positive and inspiring news, you will always be lifted up as the name of this blog suggested.
Seeing you again and you shall be rest assured of more exciting articles.

VERY HAPPY DAY TO EVERYONE,
It is our great pleasure for us to receive this PROFESSOR SUPER CONNECTOR AWARD ON BRANCH OUT NETWORK. We decided to make this announcement officially so as to share it and would like to celebrate with all of you. Here, we like to express our great heartfelt appreciation to the organiser who has taken the painstaking process to keep track of our contacts. We recognise the fact that we received this recognition from the supports from all parties comprising from our blogger buddies, organizations and you, being readers of this blog. We appreciate your efforts and times spent and hope for your continuous support so that we can face greater challenges in the near future.
This is the second award we received from Branch Out Network for the year of 2011 in just a short span of time. It must be from the contributions of all the hard works from all parties we mentioned above.
We believe our milestone successes will help us to reach out to more individuals and organizations. With this, we believe we can create a much greater impact to those who desire to make progress with the objectives of bringing more benefits to the world as a whole. Through this common belief, we definitely can work together to make a stronger and a better world for us and our future generation to live, just because of our care and love. As such, we believe that we have cemented our good relationship even stronger and ultimately will leave behind a good legacy similar to those of our ancestors who had chosen and left for us. By doing so, we believe their good efforts and times are not wasted, but we will continue to prosper.
