PROCESSED MEATS DECLARED TOO DANGEROUS FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION

The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) has just completed a detailed review

of more than 7,000 clinical studies covering links between diet and cancer.

Its conclusion is rocking the health world with startling bluntness:

Processed meats are too dangerous for human consumption. Consumers should stop buying and eating all processed meat products for the rest of their lives. Processed meats include bacon, sausage, hotdogs, sandwich meat,

packaged ham, pepperoni, salami and virtually all red meat used in frozen prepared meals. They are usually manufactured with a carcinogenic ingredient known as sodium nitrite. This is used as a color fixer by meat companies to turn packaged meats a bright red color so they look fresh. Unfortunately, sodium nitrite also results in the formation of cancer-causing nitrosamines in the human body. And this leads to a sharp increase in cancer risk for

those who eat them. A 2005 University of Hawaii study found that processed

meats increase the risk of pancreatic cancer by 67 percent. Another study revealed that every 50 grams of processed meat consumed daily increases the risk of colorectal cancer by 50 percent. These are alarming numbers. Note

that these cancer risks do not come from eating fresh, non-processed meats. They only appear in people who regularly consume processed meat products containing sodium nitrite.

Sodium nitrite appears predominantly in red

meat products (you won't find it in chicken or fish products). Here's a short list of food items to check carefully for sodium nitrite and monosodium glutamate (MSG), another dangerous additive:

* Beef jerky

* Bacon

* Sausage

* Hot dogs

* Sandwich meat

* Frozen pizza with meat

* Canned soups with meat

* Frozen meals with meat

* Ravioli and meat pasta foods

* Kid's meals containing red meat

* Sandwich meat used at popular restaurants

* Nearly all red meats sold at public schools, restaurants, hospitals, hotels and theme parks.

If sodium nitrite is so dangerous to humans, why do the FDA and USDA continue to allow this cancer-causing chemical to be used? The answer, of course, is that food industry interests now dominate the actions by U.S. government regulators. The USDA, for example, tried to ban sodium nitrite in the late 1970's but was overridden by the meat industry. It insisted the chemical was safe and accused the USDA of trying to "ban bacon."

Today, the corporations that dominate American food and agricultural interests hold

tremendous influence over the FDA and USDA. Consumers are offered no real protection from dangerous chemicals intentionally added to foods, medicines and personal care products.

You can protect yourself and your family from the dangers of processed meats by following a few simple rules:

1. Always read ingredient labels.

2. Don't buy anything made with sodium nitrite or monosodium glutamate.

3. Don't eat red meats served by restaurants, schools, hospitals, hotels or other institutions.

And finally, eat more fresh produce with every meal. There is evidence that natural vitamin C found in citrus fruits and exotic berries (like camu camu) helps prevent the formation of cancer-causing nitrosamines, protecting you from the devastating health effects of sodium nitrite in processed meats. The best defense, of course, is to avoid eating processed meats altogether!

LETTING GO AND MOVING ON

Hi! Everyone,

Have you ever experienced being disappointed, demoralized and depressed when the people you have depended on, lets you down?

I do have an unfortunate and agonizing experience. It all began 17 years ago when my wife and I took our 1 year old son to be warded in a modern and well-equipped Hospital because of illness.

Unfortunately, my wife, who was 30 plus weeks into her pregnancy, began complaining about abdominal pains at the same time, and was sent to the delivery ward at the same hospital.

Talk about a double whammy! I was not prepared for what happened next!

The 'state of art' hospital then HARASSED me with phone calls to my mobile phone demanding me to settle my wife's consultancy fee at the counter immediately. I said I would, but pleaded to stay with my frightened ill son for a while. The hospital was nastily adamant and I had no other choice, I threw the phone down to the floor as I was very upset and began regretting my choice of hospital!

Again, my wife began complaining about a second, more acute, pain just a short while upon her return.

We wheeled her off to the emergency ward but were referred to the delivery ward, after few rounds of hassle with the medical staff.

We then returned to consult the same midwife that attended to my wife the first time. She took 3 tests which annoyingly lasted nearly an hour with her irrational excuses that the earlier tests were not accurate.

But in the given circumstances, I literally had to bite my tongue and swallow my anger with all these ridiculous explanations. She finally contacted the gynecologist and mentioned something of heavy technical flow which made me sensed strongly that something was amiss.

After 20 minutes, the gynecologist arrived and immediately contacted the operating theater's personnel through phone without much explanation.

After a short talk, he slammed down his phone and rushed to the operating theater to operate my wife. Whilst being gratified with the gynecologist’s efficiency and devotion, I had to push the other staff hard because they worked like snails with irking lackadaisical attitude and slapdash mannerism. Hey, this was totally different from what I saw from the TV series of 911 documentary movies.

After a long wait of 2 hours for the operation, the gynecologist came back, with both good and sad announcements. He claimed he had done all his best and saved my wife, but the bad news was that our child was stillborn. Can you visualize how distraught and devastated I was? I simply could not accept this second fact, knowing what all those ludicrous actions and omissions committed by the Hospital before the operation.

But my agonizing and antagonizing trip to Hell did not end there.

I was flabbergasted when I found out later that my wife's medication was mixed up with that of another patient. Guess what? The hospital just casually informed that the mix up was not a big matter, because it only involved some vitamins. Of course, it was not acceptable even if it was true. I decided to pursue the whole matter to a higher level for our justice and fairness.

The Hospital's CEO eventually interfered and proposed to meet me at a Hotel to resolve my grievance with conditions that no recording device and reporter were allowed. Unfortunately, our meetings were not fruitful. What happened in the end?

You are right, nothing constructive happened after that and this matter just died at natural death. Today, I have forgiven, though I did not forget.

My friends, my message is : always cultivate and nurture your good health. But if you do need medical treatment, please be vigilant of the medical establishment you choose.

Most importantly, whenever any ordeal hits you, never let your past experiences impair your future. Your past cannot be altered and your future does not deserve punishment. Learn to let go and move on with open mind, happilly soul and forgiving heart.

 Just remember - a sound emotional and physical health are much greater wealth.

Hold Your Steering Wheel at the "9 - 3 " Position

How holding the steering wheel at the old '10-and-2' spot could tear off your hands in a crash

Millions of Americans who learned to drive before the age of modern air bags are risking severe damage to their arms and hands -- and even amputation -- because of how they hold the steering wheel.
Driving experts say the old position at the top of the wheel, 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock, risks potentially traumatic injuries in a crash, thanks to the force and direction of air bags in modern cars.

Instead, holding the wheel at a lower position, 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock, will protect drivers' hands and the arms better.


Wrong: Holding your hands too high on the steering wheel risks injury if the airbag deploys

The National Transpiration Safety Board, the agency that monitors and oversees car safety, has reported some truly horrific injuries as a result of drivers improperly placing their hands on their steering wheels, according to MSNBC.

These include, in extreme cases, severed fingers or hands, broken arms and even degloving -- the skin being torn away entirely from the fingers and hand.

In more common, and less terrifying cases, arms can be flung into faces during airbag deployment, causing broken noses and concussions.

'If the bag is going to go, it's going to take my hand and put it into my face -- either one of my hands,' Bob Hendrickson, the head of AAA driving schools in Indiana, told WTHR-TV in Indianapolis.

Experts say the higher on the wheel your hands are, the more likely they are to be struck by the steering wheel cover that shoots off as the airbag violently expands at 150 to 250 mph.


Dangerous: Airbags deploy violently, at speeds of up to 250 miles per hour. They can cause traumatic injuries to hands and arms.

Fixing the problem calls for holding the wheel lower, with hands almost parallel.

Old-school driving instructors taught their students to hold their hands high on the wheel for better control.

Looking at the steering wheel as a clock, it meant drivers putting their hands at the 10 o'clock position and the 2 o'clock position.

But drivers need to move their hands down to the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions.

Some instructions say hands should be even lower -- 8 o'clock and 4 o'clock -- but some research suggests that position might result in less vehicle control.

This happened on TAM airlines.

A 50-something year old white woman arrived at her seat and saw that the passenger next to her was a black man.

Visibly furious, she called the air hostess.
"What's the problem, ma?" the hostess asked her

"Can't you see?" the lady said - "I was given a seat next to a black man. I can't seat here next to him. You have to change my seat"

- "Please, calm down, ma" - said the hostess
"Unfortunately, all the seats are occupied, but I'm still going to check if we have any."

The hostess left and returned some minutes later.

"Madam, as I told you, there isn't any empty seat in this class- economy class.
But I spoke to the captain and he confirmed that there isn't any empty seats in the economy class. We only have seats in the first class."

And before the woman said anything, the hostess continued

"Look, it is unusual for our company to allow a passenger from the economy class change to the first class. However, given the circumstances, the commandant thinks that it would be a scandal to make a passenger travel sat next to an unpleasant person."
And turning to the black man, the hostess said:

"Which means, Sir, if you would be so nice to pack your handbag, we have reserved you a seat in the first class..."

And all the passengers nearby, who were shocked to see the scene started applauding, some standing on their feet."

UNBELIEVABLE A TOOTHY LANDSCAPE!!

In this incredible CGI (computer generated imagery) we are treated to an amazing landscape carved into the surface of a tooth. The artwork was created by Illusion, an award-winning CGI studio in Bangkok. Illusion was founded in 2001 by Surachai Puthikulangkura and they have since created an array of award winning campaigns for clients and agencies around the world.

The image above was sculpted in Zbrush, rendered in MODO and final retouches were made in Photoshop. The piece was done for JWT in Shanghai.

Wow! The above food look yummy! right? How many of you know the food at one glance? It looks like fried noodle. But of course it is not.Please continue to read if you are not sure what it is.

As we want to make a difference in our lives, perhaps we should start to try something which we have done before. To do so, for those who have not eaten the above nice food that is found in Yunnan Province, China. They should try it. It's called Bambou worms?
