TO RESTORE THE ACCURATE PERSPECTIVE OF CONFUCIUS

The news entitled, Confucius blamed for 'Ugly' side attracted my immediate attention and action that caused me to investigate further. After reading it, I realised that the teacher, Mr Woon Swee Tin was charged on Jan 5, 1981 for giving a false picture of Confucius. I do not know the outcome of this case. Appreciate if someone could come forward to share with us its outcome.

I must admit that I do not know his real reason behind for putting all the blames to our well respected Grand Teacher whose status is viewed by the Chinese communities as on par with Jesus in the Western World. His teachings have great impacts on millions of people from all walks of life. His wisdom is highly regarded and respected even till now and in future which I strongly believe so.

It is nothing new to me to see that the 'ugly" side was put up by the above such well-known infamous Chinese Author at that time for reasons best known to him. His inaccurate and inappropriate personal view of blaming Confucius for causing Chinese to be not innovative, excessively self centred, greedy, cowardly and insensitive to other peoples' sufferings is unfounded if you view the contents in totality, and not out of context. This is the exactly the method done by Pharisees to Jesus that caused his own people to prosecute Jesus, who is sinless and did nothing wrong and yet was found guilty under their own Law, contradictory with Rome's law at that time. Check the Scripture yourself on this.

If Mr Woon is right, then ask yourself why Confucius' followers were prosecuted by the Emperor Qin Shi Huang, for upholding the truth, contradictory to Mr Woon's claims that they are greedy, cowardly, and insensitive to others. This group of scholars could shift camps, as usual, and work with the Emperor to depress his own people further to accomplish the emperor's will and receive higher personal rewards from the Emperor. Such an act is very much easier to do when compared to the former act. Similarly this was what the Apostle had done after he was touched by the Lord.

As such, there is no surprise to me as the strategy is still widely used and applied by Judas much earlier when he saw Mary pouring perfume over Jesus'. We were told that Judas who voice out his "Noble" view of using the proceeds to help the poor, was a cover up for his real intention to pocket the money from the proceeds arising from the sales of perfumes. I pointed out this so called "smart act" here so that we all can see the entire whole picture and give a fair assessment to it; and not tarnishing REAL GOOD REPUTATION of these wise people, who leave behind such a rich legacy for our good.

This deceiving acts are very dangerous and it should be stopped immediately especially for those who have an influence, like Mr Woon. However, I hope that he could able to see the whole picture by now and had apologize to Confucius personally, if he is still living.

For those who know Confucius well enough, you will agree with me that he always advocates the importance of humility and was always open to learn from everyone, even if their social status is lower than him. I just totally can't apprehend how a person can learn if he closes his mind. Here, he advocates on innovation and applied knowledge in line with his famous quotation- I see I forget; I read I remember and I do I understand. He stress on the importance of the true understanding before you can apply it usefully for the betterment of the society. Here, you need to be innovative and creative to make the society progress forward.

He teaches the people to give respect to elders and loyalty to family so as to preserve order and harmony in the family before the society. He believes a family represents a small unit of the country. Similarly, the individual is a small unit in a family. As such, we must appreciate him for highlighting to us the importance of this value which begins from a family before it can be carried out at on a country level. His views should be respected and we should never put our words into his mouth and blame him. I disagree that a responsible person will do that.

Consistency is the key to determine the truth. How can we misconstrue his good intention of advocating the importance of having peace and harmony in any given society than having wars for many hundred years during his times. How can a person who advocates "self-centeredness and greediness" be staying focus on the welfare of his own people, totally contradictory with Mr Woon's view?

By now, the other claims put up by Mr Woon who claimed that pursuit of wealth is the priority from Confucius' code of ethics is totally unacceptable. Should this accusation be true, then he wouldn't travel to every part of his country to spread his teaching of good values. On the other hand, he would use his talents and skills to serve the emperor to enrich himself.

In fact, he risked his own life to express his opinion and teaching throughout China and make people realise about the importance of peace and harmony in the society. Being humble and advocating life long learning to make ourselves progress before we could contribute to our country more mightily is solid and sound principle. Another crystal clear illustration to Confucius' argument is widely used in aviation industry where the air stewards remind the passenger to put the oxygen mask to themselves before their children in an emergency. On the surface, it can be argued that the act is self- centred. But if you think deeply you will understand the rationale. Now, I hope you see the REAL BIG picture. You may be right in a narrow context, but to put Confucius wrong is not very wise. Therefore, to blame Confucius is an easy and convenient way to disrespect him. That is not fair to him because he has not been given a chance to speak for himself.

However, the blaming culture adopted by Mr Woon is not something new to me as it has become the world phenomenon and is dangerous and ought to be stopped from spreading further. On other hand, we should hold ourselves accountable to ourselves, and not blame those wise people who lived in the world more than 2,500 years ago. In his time, he was not so widely exposed to the powerful tools that we have now such as internet, radio, books , Ebook and TV. Be mindful and grateful that his knowledge and wisdom help us achieve what we have today. Don't get me wrong, that our entire achievement belong to him wholly, but only to a certain extent due to his sowing and efforts in preserving his teaching for our good.

Please do not blame him for "imperfectness", but give him the due respect, he honorably deserved. If you still can't do that, then my effort is in vain. Perhaps my arguments are not powerful enough to convince and convict you to him, I would say then. But at least I have tried my best to defend this hero of mine since my childhood time. Here, I write to appeal to others to step forward to voice out and defend this Honorable master who has gone, but his teaching still remains with us and we should appreciate what he has done for us, and not blame him for our shortcomings, due to our own destructive actions.

SUCCESS IS SO PREDICTABLE

Very warm welcome to this uplifting blog,

Today, we decided to write an article on Success, which we believe it is a well sought after topic. The title of this article may cause confusion to some of you. But sit back and relax. Continue to read it especially those who disagree with it.

If you find the title is accurate, congratulations to you and you are on your way there. Some may wonder why I say so, yet so few really attain it. This is because you need to acquire the skill to see the invisible, so to speak. I am not here to confuse you, but to share with you with  the intention to make you better and stronger.

To make thing clear, firstly we need to clearly understand its precise definition of SUCCESS.

DEFINITION OF SUCCESS

Success might mean, but is not limited to:

- a level of Social Status

- achievement of an objective/ goal

- the opposite of failure

To me, Success is a journey (means) rather than destination (end).  REAL Success is unstoppable and involves the process of progressive realisation of our Ultimate Goal. This ultimate goal is closely tied with the purpose of our life. Here, we must be able to distinguish 2 type of success - temporary and perpetual in nature. Therefore, it involves three type of learning processes namely -learning, unlearning and relearning; regardless whether knowingly or unknowingly.

It is equally true to say that it is very subjective in nature and only you will know whether you are heading towards/ departure from your ultimate goal. Sad to say that often we are so indulge in our daily challenges that frequently cause us to distract our minds from staying focus on our goals, but on the obstacles instead. In short, stay focus on your goal, SUCCESS is yours. Similarly, stay focus on Obstacles, WORRY is yours.

To achieve your goal, the top most important intellectual faculties you need to use are visualisation and will. Napoleon Hill in his famous book; Think and Grow Rich; says that anything your mind can conceive and believe, you can achieve. So, everything around us was once a picture in someone's mind. In short, everything and anything is actually created twice:- first in our mind before its physical or intangible forms.

VISUALISATION POWER

To illustrate the power of visualisation; an very excellent example to cite is of those fantastic inventions throughout mankind history such as telephone, radio, television, computer and millions more. Unfortunately, not many people are using this powerful tool to work toward achieving their Success. That's the underlying cause that a small fraction of people achieve Success.

LIMITED BELIEF

Many of us are paralysed by "limited belief", as a result of the process of conditioning from a very young age, by this tyranny. To achieve this Success, you must do yourself a great favour to embrace unlimited belief. Read more at the link below:-

RECONDITIONING 

To break away from the limited belief, you need to recondition yourself with unlimited belief, as a way to unlearn what you have learned and relearn what unlimited belief all about. Through time and persistence, you will be able to allow this new belief penetrate into your mindset, just exactly like the sea waves consistently hitting rocks at the beach till the rocks give in eventually.

TO KEEP UP WITH YOUR GOAL

Before I end my discussion, I like to make you aware that you must rely on all the six intellectual faculties: memory, perception, imagination, reason, intuition, and will; you have in order to get most from your life especially if you truly want to change your results and achieve real success. Thus, you then have to begin by internalising your desires and bring your dreams(Success/Goal) into reality.

This is not something new, but it is a proven Success recipe where its pattern is not normal to the sight of the ordinary people. However, it is very logical to the Successful people as they know that to achieve something extraordinary, you need to prescribe not the normal path as the saying " To know the path ahead, you need to ask those who returned."

Now, I believe that I have done every possible means to share with you the path I have taken that brings me the outcome I wanted. I do it to repay back those who have shown me the right way to crawl out from my dark world. Today, it is my turn to do the same to others who may be caught in the similar situation, like I was and do not know the way out.

This award was presented to her by French Ambassador to Malaysia, Marc Barety in a ceremony at his residence on Sept 24, 2011. Your voice and message was well received and supported by all people, both locally and internationally regardless of colours. Your love spirit touches every human being and you united them through your action and not through slogans. That well reflect that Action speaks Louder than words.

We know that all these awards, given from time to time cannot pay you back for the sacrifice and hardship you have gone through, and we wanted to let you know that we truly appreciated what you have done for us, from the bottom of our hearts. 

Again, we Malaysians as usual always feel proud of our fellow Malaysian's success. With this, you have set an excellent example for us especially those who seek success internationally. We believe this inspiring news will lift up every reader's spirit here.

This award is another reaffirmation of her noble idea of bringing 'election reforms' to this country with the view of raising the nation's level of democracy to a higher level, in line with Malaysia 'can do' spirit. Thanks for applying the 'can do' spirit appropriately and in a useful manner to make a better tomorrow.

Here, we would prescribe that her determination and will power led her to such a great success. As such, her brave action received overwhelming praises not only from many Malaysian, but people from other parts of the world that made her earned several awards for Malaysia and put the country in the right spotlight.

We hope more people viewed this as a healthy progress for the country as a whole. By setting fairer elections in this country, it will eventually become the talk of the world especially the Asian countries, which would made Malaysians very proud. As such, we are very pleased that the Malaysian government  announced the  formation of a committee to look into the reforms to spread head and move the Nation forward to achieve the level of the First World. This is a good start but the outcome is  yet to be seen.

BEFORE I end, let us be reminded to be honest to ourselves and ask who will care the country if we don't? Now is the time for action and there is no point in making complaints in the coffee shops or "teh tarik" outlets, which we normally talk and hear of.

Let us put whatever differences behind us and work together to make the Nation progress in the forward direction, we Malaysians truly want and care for. Don't forget that we have lots to catch up. Let us also capitalised on the spirit of One Malaysia, instilled so successfully and instantly by Datuk Ambiga, and work together and move the country FORWARD and BE THE FIRST WORLD. There is nothing impossible if we all work together to show our care and love for our country.

THE UNDERLYING STORY BEHIND MY SIGNATURE

Very warm welcome to this uplifting blog,

Today, I decided to share with you some of the underlying stories behind my signature, with the intention to furnish an effective practical solution to my life. This struck my mind last night while I was waiting for my former superior, Madam Janet, and her husband, I thought of putting my signature on the back of my name card before I handed to them, as a memorable souvenir for them. See the photo below and share with us what you could see from it before I disclose its real story, and how it was created in the first place. 

Please do not scroll down to read its real story, but let your imagination run a while. It is fun and you may have some pleasure from it. So, I appeal to you to share what you see from this signature. Thank you in advance.

Perhaps some of you may use it to assist yourself to solve some of your issues which you do not wish to tell anyone, like me in the past. This secret was kept in my heart for a few decades. Now, I chose to do otherwise for several reasons as mentioned follows:

1. It may serve an idea/inspiration to my new designer, introduced by one of my "Sifus" whom I have introduced to you in my preceding article, for my call card.  The designer may think of a better way to reflect my identity and, character, with the intention that others may use it as a powerful tool to heal their hurts, I did. Some of you may be aware that I reached maturity too early and was very independent at a very young age. I missed most of my childhood life because I started to work on a part-time basis even when I was at my primary school and many times I was hurt in many ways, in my studies, work, health and my social life was near to nothing. However, I was blessed with other talents such as Arts, Chess and Mathematics, that is the reason that made me to be an Artist at one time. I used to cover up my actual feelings occasionally, especially when I nearly could not bear it any longer. In order to escape from these hurts, one thing I did, after my discovery, was to draw a picture to put myself in a situation totally opposite to the real situation I was in. This made me feel really good. As a result, this signature was born to reflect my "DREAMED BEAUTIFUL GARDEN" where I heard birds singing surrounded by beautiful full grown flowers and strong smell of their aroma. (from the beautiful Chinese poem I picked from.) It was so sweet and wonderful that I really felt on top of the world. I live in my own imagined world, which unknowingly build into my habits from a very young age. This imagination power keeps me at peak and I was good at using my visualization to fan my desire and gain extra energy to work toward my goal to overwhelm all my hurts. At times, I just refused to come out from it and ignored the events that happened around me. You may say that I was in a denial stage, which I will never say you are wrong. What I care more is that its impacts is so good and I never hurt anyone for doing so.

2. It may help people to overcome their unbearable hurts and as a useful alternative, especially in time of economic crisis like NOW. This solution may serve as a means to lift you up as its name suggests.

3. I hope others may share their ways on how they overcome their hurts. As I always believe that we can make each other stronger and better through sharing. One thing I noted the more I share with others, I tend to receive more than give out. This may sound illogical to some of you. If it is the case, then please read the link below:-

4. This is the way we used to reward our readers through the articles we blogged. One way to get rid of my fear is to share my secrets out because it is not my way/habit. Secondly, in the past, I always received negative advice and feedback yet I have so many unfulfilled BIG dreams. In order to preserve "harmony" in the environment, I have no choice and chose not to say it out. But that again struck my mind that how could society benefit if everyone kept silent. Then how could we claim ourselves as responsible persons. Similarly, we are indirectly helping the depressed to stay in power. As such, I decided to get rid of all my fears, one by one and steadfast was my firm stand, so as to glorify the Mighty God, who has strengthened me to do all things possible.

THE ARTIST SPACE, SHAH ALAM

Very happy day, Everyone.


Thing happens for a purpose and there is no coincidence. The question is whether you agree with it. Would very much appreciate if you can share your views regardless whether you are agree or disagree. To me, there are always three perspectives on any incident. Needless to say, three different perspectives will derive different outcomes - that may cause disagreement between any two persons.


As such, in life we have encountered numerous such incidents both knowingly or unknowingly. May I know how you tackle it? Your views are always welcome here so as to help others become better persons.


As far as I am concerned, I must admit that I got annoyed by such incidents in my past because it went against my expectation. However, I have learned how to adjust and shift my mindset to look at it from a wider perspective so as to understand its underlying reason. Therefore, I am deeply grateful to those who have taught me, through their motivational books and articles I have read.


In this connection, may I be allowed to share with you my recent wonderful experience with my Guest, also my Sifu whom I have just recently know her through our CPT Alumni Gathering. She was so passionate in helping people and this is the very first time I seek her help.


Without any hesitation, she agreed to assist me even though that day is fast approaching the weekend and I tried my best to let my guest have a good lunch at a pleasant restaurant before we begin our work. After a quick survey from those restaurants within the hotel, Concorde, Shah Alam, I then decided to pick up THE ARTIST SPACE, after quick check with her, we ended there. Unexpectedly we spent two meals there, both lunch and dinner. But both are working meals there, we enjoyed our times and even we worked from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm closing time. Thereafter, we proceed to the hotel's Lobby to complete the final touches on my presentation slides.


See the photo below to access the space we have for our ARTIST minds to function tirelessly and this place reminded me of forgoing my childhood's dream to be an Artist. That's because I was told that I couldn't survive as an artist.

As a result, I changed my mind and dream to be a scientist like Thomas Edison. But somehow I put my best but was not allowed to further my form 6 in the public school due to quota system. Subsequently, I became an Accountant by accident. More read, please click at the link below:-

The above two working meals on Sept 17,2011 was very meaningful to me. As we prepared my presentation slides, in powerpoint, for the title "Blogging For Fun and Money", a day prior to my workshop preview at Epicure Exhibition 2011. All of a sudden, she asked me where I obtained the source of information/inspiration. I immediately answered that anywhere and everywhere and she prompted me that even this preparation is the source for my article. I nod my head with agreement.


We then asked the waiter to take our photo at our working place and at the main entrance of this place using her Smartphone. That's how this article was written as a record for our first collaborative work. The more we share, I realised that she is not only having the gifted talents but also having a passion to help people especially children to reap their creativity potential. She is also an international speaker, and she had agreed to let me interview her. In order not to kill your curiosity, I shall tell you about her at my forthcoming article, so stay tuned to this uplifting blog for more exciting articles to come.

Before I pen off, there is one thing I must let you know that I really enjoy working with her, a liked minded person that give us the extra energy and fun till almost midnight tirelessly. Truly amazingly interesting. Right and we shall tell you more about the source of energy where it comes from.

PENANG PHILOMATHIC UNION SOCIETY - SUN YAT-SEN CENTRE II

In my preceding article, titled Penang Philomathic Union Society, I had given you a quick brief of its history. It will not be complete if we do not apprehend the importance of its series of meetings that salvage the nation after the decadence and impotence of the Qing Imperial government. As a result, it made China an easy victim of foreign invasion resulting in humiliation and loss of its sovereignty. Having suffered internally under feudal imperial rule and coupled with the external bullying and subjugation of the foreign powers, the Chinese people could no longer tolerate such a situation. Enough is enough for them. They knew they have to act. They rose and joined in the revolution to salvage the nation. It was a solution for them to do so to safeguard their own future.


THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE SERIES OF MEETINGS


I)  PENANG CONFERENCE


Penang Conference, chaired by Dr Sun Yat-Sen, held a historical meeting on November 13, 1910 at number 404, Dato’ Keramat Road in Penang, after he endured several consecutive defeats in his uprisings.


This was a regrouping of members of the Tong Meng Hui, an organisation with the mission of overthrowing the Qing Dynasty. In the meeting, they came up with a new direction and strategy which received enthusiastic support from the Overseas Chinese. It serves as a turning point of profound historical impact as it brought the ebb of the revolutionary tide to new heights, and aroused the fighting spirit of the people. This again reaffirms our belief that there is always a solution which accompanies a crisis. This is not exceptional but rather general rule to the crisis. Therefore, be brave and do not bow down to the crisis.


II) EMERGENCY MEETING


This meeting was held by the revolutionaries at 120 Armenian Street, Penang, the headquarters of the Nanyang Branch of the Tong Meng Hui and also the office of the Penang Philomathic Union, the day after the "Penang Conference (PC)". This follow up meeting is to find ways of the implementing the decisions of the PC. The meeting resolved to launch a worldwide campaign amongst the overseas Chinese communities to raise funds for "The Battle of Huang Hua Gang" or the "Yellow Flower Mound Revolt".


III) THE BATTLE OF HUANG HUA GANG


The above battle which lasted for one day and one night, half of the rebel fighters were either killed, wounded or captured. 72 fighters scarified their lives and were subsequently buried in a mass grave in Huang Hua Gang, east of Guangzhou. The grave has then named "The Grave of the 72 Huang Hua Gang Martyrs".


The blood and bitterness of this battle led to stir a widespread of sympathy for the cause and hatred for the enemy. Thus, this laid the foundation for the success of the Chinese Revolution which sparked off the "Wuchang Uprising" on Oct 10, 1911. Success breeds success. It finally put an end not only of the 200 years of Manchu autocratic rule, but also the end of 4,000 years of feudal rule by emperors in China. The Chinese society then entered into a new era with the democratic system of government - that advocates the people would be the masters and the nation would be ruled by the people and for the people. There are three fundamental principles behind its concept.


Trust you find it very inspiring as I did. These exhibits can be used to serve as a good model for us to follow. This is because it well reflects our normal process of life, filled with ups and downs situation. Be mindful that down does not mean an end, but just a process of moulding us to be stronger. To succeed in any venture, you should not give up. From our above discussion, you can see that the series of meetings and struggles, led Dr Sun to succeed in bringing new era of government to the China.


That's the reason why I describe these exhibits can be well served as educational programme for all walks of life. I must conclude that my visit to the centre was very fruitful, far beyond my expectation.

TEA IN MANDARIN CHARACTER

Very warm welcome to this UPLIFTING BLOG,

I hope you too like the lovely photo, which I obtained it from one of persons, JENNY YONG OF CHINA, I engaged with through Facebook. I must thank her so much for her kindness of allowing me to display it in my blog for your viewing pleasure.


Tell me what you could see from the above photo. You may compare the wording from other images at the side bars of my blog. I am sure that the above photo conveys many meanings to you. For those who understand Mandarin, most likely recognise its meaning as it form the word, TEA, in Mandarin character. Now, you know the reason behind why I displayed the lovely photo of 'TEA" in this blog. Some of you may well aware that the conventional Chinese characters are in the form of pictorial form.


In this connection, may someone help me to explain how and why this word was first created in this manner? Then it may help you as to why the creator of the piece of art used two little white flowers at the top of the word? Why the roof, just below the two flowers, is in green? What pink and brown colours mean here?


By now, what I can say for sure that we need some imagination to figure out its true meaning. Please share with us what you see there. Do not worry because there is no right answer to it. Who dare to say you are wrong to interpret it in the way you see it. Just a clue for someone who has not see anything from it, what you need to do is stare at it for long and slowly and surely, the picture will then appear by itself.


To truly enjoy a good brew tea, you must be very patient for it. Just like seeing the above picture. At the end of the day, the tea must give you a pure, bitter and sweet taste. Its pureness must be preserved and you need the skill to brew it. If you have not, don't worry. Practice, practice and proactive will make you perfect. It is just like any trade.



With this lovely piece of art, I am pretty sure it will NOT ONLY enrich our lives, but also uplift lives. Furthermore, how would you feel if you are being served with good quality of tea right now. CORPORATE LESSON

VERY WARM WELCOME TO THE UPLIFTING BLOG

Recently I received from my Chief Editor of my blogs the following story, which I read with full excitement. That is the reason I decided to blog it out to share with you so as to keep you up, especially for those who had one way or the other to be phased out from employment due to the company rightsizing exercise or whatsoever terms you prescribed to.


The below story give you another perspective which may make you feel better especially when the retrenchment/ downsizing is carried out due to certain circumstances and not due to your fault. What is more important for you is to look forward and move ahead with your dream.


So, without much ado, I like to begin the story as follow:-


There was a farmer who collected horses; he only needed one more breed to complete his collection.


One day, he found out that his neighbor had the particular horse breed he needed. So, he constantly bothered his neighbor until he sold it to him. A month later, the horse became ill and he called the veterinarian, who said:
-Well, your horse has a virus. He must take this medicine for three days. I'll come back on the 3rd day and if he's not better, we're going to have to put him down.


Nearby, the goat listened closely to their conversation. The next day, they gave him the medicine and left. The goat approached the horse and said:
- Be strong, my friend. Get up or else they're going to put you to sleep!


On the second day, they gave him the medicine and left. The goat came back and said:
- Come on buddy, get up or else you're going to die! Come on, I'll help you get up. Let's go!
One, two, three...


On the third day, they came to give him the medicine and the vet said:
- Unfortunately, we're going to have to put him down tomorrow. Otherwise, the virus might spread and infect the other horses.

After they left, the goat approached the horse and said:
- Listen pal, it's now or never! Get up, come on! Have courage! Come on! Get up! Get up!

That's it, slowly! Great! Come on, one, two, three... Good, good. Now faster, come on....
Fantastic! Run, run more! Yes! Yay! Yes! You did it, you're a champion!!!


All of a sudden, the owner came back, saw the horse running in the field and began shouting:
- It's a miracle! My horse is cured. This deserves a party. Let's kill the goat!


So, your story may not be worse than the goat above. As such, you should not be sad about it. Instead you should stand proud of it and move on with your life. Be mindful that life begins at the end of comfort zone. Give the last statement a serious thought, if you somehow feel difficult to acknowledge it.


Last but not least, you should now sit back and ponder before you look for its answer below.


Points for reflection: this often happens in the workplace. Nobody truly knows which employee actually deserves the merit of success, or who's actually contributing the necessary support to make things happen.


LEARNING TO LIVE WITHOUT RECOGNITION IS A SKILL!


If anyone ever tells you that your work is unprofessional, remember: amateurs built the Ark and professionals built the Titanic.

HOW TO KEEP UP WITH GOAL

VERY WARM WELCOME TO THE UPLIFTING BLOG,

Have you ever wonder that goal setting is much easier than keeping up with it? You may have experienced so many failed pre set and noble goals despite so much efforts and time have been spent during its planning and implementation stage. There are many reasons for its failure and therefore it is more crucial for us to focus on our discussion topic on the latter issue so as to shed us some insight of it.


To me, goal and result are the two similar but significant terms that give rise to a feeling of fulfillment and satisfaction every time when they met. However, every day is a seed, it comes with enough opportunities to help us solve problems, meet needs, improve self and achieve greater success. If you see it broadly, someone’s success is always tied up with your personal improvement. This is a fact whether you know it or not. A society, as a whole, is improved and developed when its inhabitants are informed and developed. Thus, you may attribute it to a system where a person’s improvement can influence or impact the whole world. History has well demonstrated and proven this point in case.




At time, goals just evaporate out of sight in our daily needs to achieve goals and enhance improvement. Commitments are sometimes neglected. Just take a hockey game for instance, the objective of each team is to score goals as many times as possible in order to win their opponent. But we often encounter situations where it ended without a team member hitting a goal even with extra time given.


Imagine how they could not put the ball into a goal post in the given time. Of course, they are due to many possible reasons. Every day is like a maze, with confusing turns but with a pattern if you closely observed it. Your ability and skill to analyse its patterns and understand them determines its passage. Do you agree with me? Just like our previous example of hockey game, each team is strategically structured to stop the other from scoring while they collaborate smartly among the team members to score as much as possible. A team will be more incline to score better if they are able to predict correctly the pattern of their opponents.


Similarly in life, everything has a pattern. That’s why success is not always out of strength or skill, but work according to the natural laws about anything and everything. There are three keys that will help you to keep track of your goal.


1. Stay Focus:


When you find a purpose, stay focus on it and success will be yours. There will always be goals to achieve. As long as there is progress in any venture there tend to be accompanied with new issues and innovative solutions. Increasing commitments may lead to the possibility of losing sight on the most important things. When it gets tough in hockey match, a team might lose focus of goals while trying to handle the surging offense of the other team. And there may be other adverse challenges to be overcome as well. Be mindful that you should not necessarily abandon other commitments just solely to achieve that particular one goal in mind. It is not wise to do so? To stay focus in concise definition is giving rise to each goal or commitment that required attention in its given time.


2. Consistency:

With consistent hit by sea waves, a rock at the beach will eventually give in. This is for sure that no progress will be achieved without consistency. Through consistent improvement over time, you will be perfect. Consistency is not mediocrity. Mediocrity is maintaining the status quo, even if it is much below the required standard whereas consistence is continual progress no matter how slow or gradual it is.


3. Strong Determination and Will Power:


Consistency cannot persist without determination and will power. As we all are aware that consistent progress is not without obstacles and failures, but what is more important is the ability to rise and improve on that count. Couple with determination, consistency will eventually overcome all barriers; that is the tested and proven ingredient for success. The world will always wait for a determined man to conquer.

Trust the above will give you useful insight of success. If it is so, please spread to others so that they can also benefit. Through the progress made by anyone, we will equally benefit in line with the saying, "What goes around, comes around." Thank you for doing so.

This is another update of my recent visit to this church. You may refresh yourself at my preceding article on this church, which was under renovation at that time, by clicking at the link below. Happy reading.


In today's discussion, I decided to let the photos take you through and speak for itself. Photo speaks a thousand words. Now, you can see for yourself that the clock has been installed to its former shine and rich historical building. Please give us your feedback in regard to its original clock, if you have any. Better still, if you could furnish us with a copy of its photo for our inclusion in this article so as to enrich it. By doing so, we somehow leave a legacy for the future generation to see and appreciate our good work here.


With its new facelift of paint, this remarkable building can stand proudly tall with its surrounding peers. I am sure that these buildings will attract lots of tourists, both local and foreign. This will generate another income stream for this state which had been long neglected.


As such, I urge all Penangites to work as a united force to promote this Island of the Orient, it had attained at my childhood's time. To start the ball rolling, I will chip in to do my part by constantly contributing articles to this effect.
