To enhance its understanding further, our discussion today on how to achieve perpetual success should be view as a supplementary to this already popular topic and we hope you reap the maximum benefits out of it.

In order to achieve its end, there are the steps we need to go through thoroughly with you as follow:-

1. BELIEVE IN IT

First, we must recognise the truth of the power of human minds. It makes us distinguish distinctly from animals and make us the Kings in this planet. When we can conceive and believe in it, we can make it. As such, it is of paramount important that we are able to align our belief system into what believe. Believing that it works will drive our mind to search for solutions to make it happen. In one of my preceding articles, I do encourage you to replace the word "I'm Possible" to "impossible". By doing so, you will remove the top most obstacle in your mind. Thereafter, you may ask further:- How to make it happen?

2. DO NOT LET TRADITION PARALYSE OUR MINDS

Many of us; knowingly and unknowingly; are in a way conditioning our minds by the surroundings events we are exposed to. In a way, we are also influenced by such circumstances. If left un-check, we will be drag into the beliefs of the majority who aimed to please the society we are living in. As a result, we are also ingrained with such behaviour and are hesitant to change. Sad to say that only changes can bring us progress.

Conversely, we need to be receptive to new ideas, so to speak. Be experimenting with new ideas and do learn from your mistakes. Never be afraid of making mistakes. Mistake actually shows us the right path to our discovery. Thomas Edison made 5,000 mistakes before he invented a light bulb. As such, I like to say that there is no failure in itself. Mistake indicates that this is not the right path to Success. You see now that failure is a small success in itself because you have discovered that this is not the right path. Try other path, this is all about. Hope I have not confused you. If I do, please continue to read. You may be clearer by the end of the article. If not, give it a deep thought.

3. BE CREATIVE

Just by believing in it will not bring you success, unless you put it into action. Then, how can Creativity come into play? Please share with us your thoughts. To me, it comes in many ways:- it not only helps us to find an intelligent short cut to solve our problems in hand; it may also give us solutions to overcome the constraints we are currently facing such as compliance to the legal requirements; resources and etc. It may also prompt us to re-look into other possibilities such as the processes involved. Here, you may reinvent the wheel or re-engineer the processes involved or the methods such as automation and etc.

Creativity offers us ways to solve our problems. Be mindful that if you want to stand out in the crowd, then creativity is one of the possible ways. Another thing I need you to realise is that creativity is crucially required in all professionals namely Law; Accountancy; Architects etc..

In view of the keen competitive marketing environment, creativity and innovation play a very important role in the business especially for those looking for a sustainable growth model.

4. CONSTANTLY REVIEW AND INCREASE YOUR CAPACITY

Feeling is a state of mind, so is Capacity. Frequently asking yourself to increase your capacity will open doors to your minds to look for intelligent shortcuts. As some of you may be aware that I started to work at a very young age, in order to find time for my study. I learn to search for intelligent shortcut namely multi-tasking which I learn from my mum to save time. To achieve perpetual success in anything, you need to do better (in term of its processes, control) ; and increase the output ( in term of quality and quantity of its output.) In short, To do less and get more.

5. CONSTANTLY IMPROVING

To achieve perpetual success is to constantly asking yourself to do better than yesterday. Be mindful that self improvement has no limit. Listen to its answer in echo. Ask and you will get it.

No surprise that life learning is inevitable.

6. CONSTANTLY VIGILANT

Be observant at all times. Ask and listen whenever you can so as to ensure that you make sound decisions. Listen more and speak less so that you do not miss out on any opportunity. Observe and learn from those successful people, which were well advocated in Napoleon Hill's book, Think and Grow Rich. If you have not read, please do yourself a favour and get it now.

7. STRETCH OUR MINDS TO ITS MAXIMUM

To achieve this end, you need to constantly stimulate your mind. I learn from the Mathematics stimulation that there is always a solution where you can find at the optimum point of anything and everything exactly like those parameters expressed in Mathematics problem. In real life, we always facing several issues (parameters) and at the same time we need to resolve these issues with constraints and yet we obtained the best solution out of all possible solutions. Therefore, you may need this Mathematics equation to work out the best solution for your problems in hand.

LIFE IS PRECIOUS BUT FRAGILE

VERY WARM WELCOME TO THIS UPLIFTING BLOG,

There is a common misconception that Truth is difficult and painful to accept.  Change although inevitable is also often difficult and painful to accept. Even though we are all aware that no progress will be achieved without change, yet people are still naive to accept both truth and change. Perhaps this is the logical reason that derives the end result as to why only a small percentage of people achieve success in life.

To be more precise, I must say that an instant change is often a difficult subject to talk about especially in front of a group. Hope you don't get me wrong here. That is also the rationale as to why success is so predictable, yet so few people achieve it.

In this article, I write to share with you that it is critically important for us to realize the truth that our lives can change at any moment. I am not trying to frighten you but to get you prepared for it. In today's world, everything changes so rampantly in almost every thing we see and use. Realistically, our everyday life responses to these changes knowingly or unknowingly; willingly or unwillingly. We just don't know precisely when it will happen to us. Therefore, being adaptable to the changes is the Realistic solution.

Many of us will get the dreaded phone call, giving us some piece of bad news especially in this Global Financial Crisis situation. You may hear from your boss that you are fired or your doctor may tell you that there is something seriously wrong with you and you may have a very short span of remaining life.

Changes may go both ways and so does the crisis. The good news is that your life can be altered for the better in both changes and crisis. For instance, in a least expected worse situation, you may meet a new friend or like minded people and come up with a brilliant idea, or discover a new career direction or venture. With just a small little idea or venture, you just discover your fortune. Now you see life is so exciting and mysterious.

We must admit that things just can't be there forever; except God and His words. Regardless whether we like it or not, things are going to change over time. Living life with such awareness will ease us to accept changes, which is unavoidable in nature. In this way, we will not be shocked or thrown off when a change come and cause us unnecessary burden. Smartly and wisely, we should just response to it with an unruffled sense of acceptance.

I will never forget the time when I was about to have my bath in the evening in the year 2002 and received a crying call  from my sister and was shocked to know my dad had passed away. This news just come out of the blues, for no reason, he was just about 67 ( No one knows his actual age due to its underlying story). This came less than a year after my grand mother, from my mother side passed away at 103. My uncle, my mother's younger brother, also passed away at age of 50 plus,  a few months later than my father. Initially I must confess that I don't see any good in these changes until I accepted Christ. Subsequently, I am convinced and convicted of the truth that everything happens for a reason and for good. The truth finally free me from all these bondage and I believe in Him more. Please do share with us your experience as how you embrace your uncertain mind sets and overcome all these challenges regardless whether it is of the same or different in term of nature and type.

  
One thing I have learned is that we should always be prepared for the change, as a matter of fact. Every day we are subjected to situations in which the underlying issue is the simple truth that life is changing. 

It is worthy to note that change is not only inevitable but also something we can prepare for. I know some of you may find this statement weird, but stay with me and read further. Some of you may have experience of giving away all those things you no longer need and have held on to for too long. You may hesitate/ be uncomfortable initially, subsequently you find cleaning your house is much easier than before after you have cleared the above items from your house. Here, you see that though change can seem difficult and unwanted, it can also lead to pleasant surprises. My advice is that it is good that we get out from our comfort zone and do something we find uneasy or weird regularly so that we can adapt to new changes much easier. Please do share with us should you have other ideas to cope with changes.

Acknowledging the simple fact that life can and does change instantly is a first step of acquiring this powerful tool of welcoming changes without any hesitation. With this, you may impact others in making changes in their life rather than waiting for the changes to force them to accept them unwillingly. When life does spring surprises to you, this awareness will allow you to respond to it with an open heart.

Jaycelyn Tan possesses more than 20 years of professional experiences in various industries including Information Technology, Business Consulting, Building Technologies and Energy. Her main focus is in the financial arena especially project management financial and commercial controlling.

She has worked in sales and marketing roles in major IT companies like : NCR and Unisys Malaysia. She was also the Contract & Pricing Manager at Unisys before joining Siemens Nixdorf Information Systems (SNI) as its Senior Commercial Manager, where her main functions entailed overall financial planning, projects financial and commercial controlling, contracts and risks management. She was later appointed the Country Project Manager of Siemens Malaysia and was tasked to lead a team of consultants and power users for SAP implementation for Siemens Malaysia and SNI. Due to her knowledge and experiences in project management and her skills in managing the triple constraints of the project, the project successfully went live on schedule in mid 2002. With her practical knowledge in project management and financial controlling, she will be able to help and guide companies overcome their challenges in project implementation.

Her other key experiences also include :

·        being the Vice President-Finance & Business Administration of an IT and Consulting division of Siemens Malaysia. Assuming the function of the CFO of the division, her skills and consultative leadership style had led the teams to a successful three years of operation and profitable results.

·        being the Vice President-Finance & Business Administration of the Building Technologies division of Siemens Malaysia. Her efforts and involvement in redesigning certain pertinent Working Capital processes, streamlining the project management processes and staffing the right resources for the division had resulted in the division being turned around successfully.

·        being the Director-Finance ; Business Administration of the Energy sector of Siemens Taiwan. There, she was responsible for 6 divisions, namely: Energy Transmission, Energy Distribution, Fossil Energy, Renewable Energy, O&G and Energy Services. Under her leadership, the sector had won a prestigious Business Award for the Northeast Asia Region under the Accounts Receivable improvement category in the FY2008/09.

She is currently also a freelance Senior Training Consultant for Siemens Management Institute based in Beijing, China.

TAX INCENTIVES FOR BUILDING OBTAINING GBI INDEX CERTIFICATE

Happy reading to all of you.

Today, I write to draw your immediate attention and action to this particular above mentioned tax incentives.

Here, we are pleased to inform you that the Government of Malaysia has launched the Green Building Index (GBI) on May 21, 2009 to encourage usage of green technology. GBI is a green rating index on environmental friendly buildings. This index is based on certain criteria listed as follows:-

a. energy and water efficiency;

b. indoor environment quality;

c. sustainable management and planning of building sites in respect  of pollution control and facilities for workers;

d. usage of recyclable and environmental friendly materials and resources; and

e. adoption of new green technologies

As such, owners of buildings awarded the GBI certificate shall be given tax exemption equivalent to 100% of the additional capital expenditure incurred to obtain the GBI certificate which can be set-off against 100% of the statutory income for each year of assessment. The incentive is applicable for new buildings and upgrading of existing buildings. The incentive is given only for the first GBI certificate issued in respect of the building. Effective for buildings awarded with GBI certificates from 24 October 2009 until 31 December 2014.

In addition to the above, incentives such as stamp duty exemption on instruments of transfer of ownership of such buildings in respect of additional cost incurred to obtain the GBI certificate for purchasers of the buildings and residential properties from real property developers which are awarded with GBI certificate. Effective for sales and purchase agreement executed from the same period mentioned above.
