BOOK REVIEW - NO WAY OUT BUT TROUGH

BOOK REVIEW - NO WAY OUT BUT THROUGH

This is another great inspiring book I have just read. I am able to see crystal clear as to how the author was transformed despite having so many unpleasant and undesirable memories. This inspirational personal touching story, filled with invaluable lessons, hindsight and insights really move me from the beginning till the end. I was very fascinated with how the author had been transformed and given the strength to overcome all the obstacles to become a joyful, fulfilled and wise person. This uplifting story also has a strong grounding on faith in God. I must say that this book is a wonderful story about hope, love and forgiveness. Rich with emotion and sensation.

His writing talents together with his well crafted skills brilliantly and creatively combined, really kept me turning the pages. His bold and brave action in sharing his ugly, painful and hurtful story is worthy of praises. I am deeply delighted to see how he can move so freely to convey Life’s message in such a powerful and insightful manner. His story is full of detailed expressions and emotions and cover varies aspects of his life - a real great insight as what truly make him tougher, stronger and wiser. That really drives him to beat himself to achieve greatness. Amazingly well done, I must say. This is a quick, easy and good read, yet filled with much sensation for those who who loves colourful and interesting stories.

Fortunate that Graham Aitchison chose to share his own gifts and experience to shed some light especially to those who do not have any clue to overcome their challenges. He believes in simplicity and was focus through his writing. This book is truly enlightening with wisdom. It definitely serve far more than self help book.

I received a review copy of the book for the purpose of writing a fair and honest review and no other compensation.

No way out but through though is a book of its kind which provides us with more than one dimension. It can help us view things not only in the physical sense, but also its related God's wisdom. And more importantly, how we can apply God's wisdom, live and shine with it. It serves wide and diverse needs especially for those who want to be exposed and learn the highest, positive and broader perspective on life. Don’t take my word for it, check it out yourself.

This book also makes you gain more exposure in Christian values. It may give you a valid solid, profound and sound understanding of life given by the Mighty Loving God.

What I enjoyed most about this book is its fascinating way of conveying Christian values. It reflects the beauty of spreading the amazing little seed in readers' hearts, which is often underestimated. That’s what makes this book truly worth reading.

As you read through the book, you will be able to visualise the hardship and the struggles the author had to go through and fully understand how he was caught in this painful situation. This book is not meant to persuade or dissuade you – it’s meant to inform, ingrain and teach the readers in gaining the appropriate perspectives in our daily life.

This book is highly recommended for reading. It is also suitable as a Christmas' and festive gifts. The Title of the book is short and Simple, Precise and sum up the whole story.

No Way Out But Through is definitely a noble goal, because it spreads the value of Christianity and prospers them to see things from the positive, profound and appropriate perspective, from God’s perspective through our daily Life. I must say that the reward of its wisdom is far more than your time, energy and money spent. Marvelous! In short, you will be empowered by its wisdom. Through consistent and persistent application by living it in your life is the surest way to have similar effect.

This book is also ideal for anyone who feels you had been living life without much meaning and is looking for inspiration to go off on your own, and dislike heavy reading.

Last, but not least, this book would make a lovely valuable and meaningful Christmas present.

All I can say is thank you and deeply delighted that the Author finally found his peace.

How to Stop Complaining to be Happier

I've always been a complainer. It wasn't so much that I was unhappy and that's why I was complaining -- it was just a habit that started to perpetuate itself, making it hard to break and eventually becoming a part of who I am. Soon, the mindless complaining started to create unhappiness, reinforcing negativity in myself and for those around me.

I knew that I needed a change, so I decided to do a bit of a detox. When I went online to get some tips, I found that many others were doing the same, and that cutting out complaining and other forms of negative self-talk had actually been shown to improve mood and to increase your overall happiness level, improving other aspects of your health, as well.

Here are a few tips that helped me learn to stop complaining and that may help you, as well:

Make a Pledge and Tell Everyone about It

When you announce your intentions to others, not only does it make it more official, but you also have people who can then support you in meeting your goals and hold you accountable. When I told my friends and family about my decision to stop complaining, a few people were confused about why I wanted to do it, but most were very supportive and excited to see how I would progress on the journey.

Let others know what you are doing and why you are doing it. If you have a goal for how many days you want to make it complaint-free, tell them that. Also let them know what kind of language you consider to be a "complaint" and what you need from them in order to support you.

Use a Visual Reminder

A reverend who challenged his church to stop complaining launched a movement (http://www.acomplaintfreeworld.org/) that now strives to reach people all around the world to promote this message of positivity. One of the strategies that this movement employs is the use of a purple bracelet as a visual reminder of the pledge to stop complaining. When you slip up and complain, you move the band to the other arm and you start counting down your complaint-free days again.

When I started on my complaint-free mission, I used one of the bracelets. However, it was hard for me to remember how many days it had been since I switched it, making it more difficult for me to monitor my progress. I found that keeping a journal helped me more. Though it wasn't a constant visual reminder, it did offer me a clear visual guide to my progress whenever I opened it up.

Focus on the Positive

To really stop your complaints, you have to find other things to focus on besides the negative. There will always be bad things happening either in your life, in your friends' lives or in the world. If you dwell on these things, you will become consumed , and that negativity will breed more negativity.

If you feel that you want to start complaining about something, focus on something positive instead. It can either be a positive aspect of the situation you want to complain about, or it can be something else positive that's happening in your life. When I first started doing this, it felt a little weird and unnatural. Bu after a few weeks, I started to naturally think about the positive things in my life, and all those negatives started to dwindle, making it all that much easier to stop complaining.

Get to the Root of Your Complaints

Mindless complaining isn't just about habit sometimes. It can often mask your unhappiness with deeper issues. Maybe you aren't happy in your job, or maybe your marriage is experiencing some troubles. Maybe you just don't feel content in your life. Whatever the reason, you have to deal with these issues if you are going to stop the complaints and start to focus more on the positive.

In my case, I was very unhappy with my job and found that I wasn't doing what I really wanted to do. A few months into my no-complaints challenge, I started shifting my focus to writing full-time, and I eventually was able to quit my job and transition to writing for pay. It was such a relief and I was so much happier that I found that I naturally wanted to complain less.

Complaints are insidious little comments that can start to dominate our speech and our thoughts before we realize what's happening. Over time, this constant focusing on the negative can cause you to feel unhappy and not to live up to your full potential. If you have done some honest soul-searching and realize that you need to stop complaining, these tips can help you to focus on the positive and get to a place that  is happier and more fulfilling in your life. You'll be amazed at what changing this one habit can do for you!

BLOG POST FOR THE BUTTERSMITHS' GOLD

Blog Post for The Buttersmiths' Gold

POST: (regular)
Buttersmith's Gold Cover Art:

The Buttersmiths' Gold
BATTLES. BLUEBERRIES. BOVINES.
TORBJORN AND STORFJELL’S HISTORY UNFOLDS IN AN EPIC EVERTASTER NOVELLA.

Everyone knows the most coveted treasure of the Viking Age was blueberry muffins. Blueberry muffins so succulent that if you sniffed just a whiff, you'd want a whole bite. If you bit a bite, you'd want a batch; if you snatched a batch, you'd stop at nothing short of going to war just to claim them all.
Young Torbjorn Trofastsonn comes from the clan that makes them. He's a Viking through and
through – he's thirteen winters old, larger than most respectable rocks, and most of all, a Buttersmith. That's what he thinks anyway, until a charismatic merchant makes Torbjorn question his place among the muffin-makers. When Torbjorn lets the secret of his clan's muffin recipe slip, he calls doom and destruction down upon his peaceful village and forces his brother Storfjell and his clansmen to do the one thing they are ill-prepared to do: battle for their lives.

About The Buttersmiths' Gold
The Buttersmiths' Gold is a spin off novella in the Evertaster series that tells the story of two Viking brothers and their adventurous past. The Evertaster series (Book #1 released June 14, 2012) is about Guster Johnsonville, who goes searching for a legendary taste rumored to be the most delicious in all of history. Along the way he meets a slew of mysterious characters, including two Viking brothers Torbjorn and Storfjell. The Buttersmiths' Gold is their story. 124 pages. By Adam Glendon Sidwell. Published by Future House Publishing.

Evertaster, Book #1:
A legendary taste. Sought after for centuries. Shrouded in secrecy.
When eleven-year-old Guster Johnsonville rejects his mother’s casserole for the umpteenth time, she takes him into the city of New Orleans to find him something to eat. There, in a dark, abandoned corner of the city they meet a dying pastry maker. In his last breath he entrusts them with a secret: an ancient recipe that makes the most delicious taste the world will ever know — a taste that will change the fate of humanity forever.

Forced to flee by a cult of murderous chefs, the Johnsonvilles embark on a perilous journey to ancient ruins, faraway jungles and forgotten caves. Along the way they discover the truth: Guster is an Evertaster — a kid so picky that nothing but the legendary taste itself will save him from starvation. With the sinister chefs hot on Guster’s heels and the chefs’ reign of terror spreading, Guster and his family must find the legendary taste before it’s too late.

MY WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE ON MY FIRST BOOK PUBLICATION

MY WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE ON MY FIRST BOOK PUBLICATION

I received a negative reply from the publisher stating that they decided not to publish my book due to the softening market. I then turn this rejection into an opportunity by opting for self publication as I viewed it differently. I then began to complete and improve it further. With determination, will power and strong focus on my goal rather than the obstacles, I finally completed the book with joy. As far as I am concern, book publication may be less urgent, but it is important for me.

Day after day, week after week, month after month, I kept writing, fine-tuning and polishing until I am satisfied with this finished book. Fortunately, my editor allowed me to send it by installments. So, every time I received feedback from my editor with the first round of edits, I was not much surprised at the amount of "Red" on the pages. I became very used to it and send my other chapters until the book was finally completed. The journey was a smooth, steady with great progress, I would say. It may be due to my overwhelming passion and indulgence into it. I felt joy and peace instead of pain as I wrote. Each chapter served as my own discovery and it was very sweet, fulfilled and rewarding, I must say. Since this is my first book, I know that I needed to learn a lot. I am prepared for whatsoever comes along. What matters most to me is keep on polishing and honing my skills and ensuring that the book can serve its readers utmost well, in line with my motto : To Inspire and Get Inspire.

I'm trying my very best not to get overwhelmed by the amount of work that my "finished" book still needs after comments from various parties.  The comments have been wonderfully encouraging.

I love and salute my editor, Lawrence Loh, who has the super duper ability to fix those sentences by keeping my initial message intact. Well done, Lawrence. At times, he also highlighted my confusing statements and urged me to re-look at it to ensure that it makes sense, is logical and consistent throughout my book.

Chapter by chapter as it progressed, the first draft of book finally came to an end. Then I thought of sending it to another editor. After some feedbacks, it did not turn up to our expectation. Lawrence again decided to go through thoroughly one more time for the entire book, before other supplement pages such as the profile of author, acknowledgement page, and book cover text were added to it. We truly want to create a unique, great read for readers to understand, think and apply it in their lives in responses to the rapid changes of the current environment individually, collectively and as a whole.

As to the particular need of design work, I shared the news with my childhood friend. He subsequently came out with two book cover designs after deep and serious thought. I then circulated the designs to my circle of friends for comments before we further fine tuned the finished product finally.

Thereafter, my son and I took it further by going through the video and guidebook before we managed to upload the entire book content together with its book covers, despite some technical hiccups here and there.

Though it was a lengthy process, yet it was and is so wonderful, fruitful and joyful journey I have ever enjoyed. Before it faded away from my memory, I better put it on record. So, take my challenge to give yourself a try and hope you too enjoy it.

3 TIMELESS PARABLES FOR REGAINING PERSPECTIVE

3 Timeless Parables For Regaining Perspective
If you are like me, sometimes I am so busy trying to catch up, stay even, or take the lead that I lose perspective. When things are going well, I am on top of the world. Yet then when bad luck hits or I see others achieving things I wish I could, I get down on myself. It's at times like these that I refer back to three parables from different cultures that have helped me better keep my perspective.
1.    Good Luck or Bad Luck? (a Zen koan)
Once upon the time there was an old farmer who had worked his crops for many years. One day his horse ran away. Upon hearing the news, his neighbors came to visit. “Such bad luck,” they said sympathetically.

“Perhaps,” the farmer replied.

The next morning the horse returned, bringing with it three other wild horses. “What great luck!” the neighbors exclaimed.

“Perhaps,” replied the old man.

The following day, his son tried to ride one of the untamed horses, was thrown, and broke his leg. The neighbors again came to offer their sympathy on his misfortune.

“Perhaps,” answered the farmer.

The day after, military officials came to the village to draft young men into the army. Seeing that the son’s leg was broken, they passed him by. The neighbors congratulated the farmer on how well things had turned out.

“Perhaps,” said the farmer...
* One take-away I have from this parable is that, while we should certainly celebrate when things go well, we should not get carried away. Simultaneously, when bad things happen we should not lose our cool. Life is not only a series of ups and downs but also, some "bad luck" may turn out to be "good luck."

To read how I turn my weakness to strength, please click the link below:-

So, it pays to have a sense of equanimity throughout both life's good and bad times. Life is not a collection of discrete occurrences or events but that everything we do is linked together; our lives are a series of interconnected days.
2.    I'd Rather Be a Happy Turtle (Chinese)
Zhuang Zi was a brilliant philosopher and strategist who lived in ancient China. His abilities were many and several rulers sought his services. One of them, King Wei, sent his courtiers out to Zhuang Zi's pastoral home to invite him to come to Wei's court and be the leader's chief counselor. They found him there fishing by the river bank.
Seeing his poor situation, they thought Zhuang Zi would jump at the chance for status and reward. Yet when they made their proposal to him, he said, "Once upon a time there was a sacred turtle, which was happy living his life in the mud. Yet, because he was sacred, the king's men found him, took him to the royal palace, killed him and used his shell to foresee the future. Now tell me, would that turtle prefer to have given up his life to be honored at the palace, or would he rather be alive and enjoying himself in the mud?"
The courtiers responded that, of course, the turtle would be happier in the mud.
To which Zhuang Zi replied, "And so you have my answer. Go home and let me be a happy turtle here in the mud."
* The lesson I take from this parable is that we are often easily bewitched by advancement, fame, and reward. And we are so seduced by it that we trade our most precious resource, time, to get it. And many times, looking back, we are unhappy with the trade-off. So before I take on more, I try and think about if I'd be happier with "fame" or woud I have more fun enjoying my time "in the mud".
3.    The King and the Pawn (Italian)
This is not a parable per se, but a proverb, simple, short and sweet, namely:
"At the end of the game, the king and the pawn go back in the same box."
For me there are two messages in this tale:
One is that, even though we all hold different ranks, in the end we are all the same. Therefore, I should never take advantage of rank at the expense of another, nor should I allow myself to be taken advantage of or overawed by someone of higher stature.
The other lesson I draw from this proverb is that, in the end, all our achievements and rank should not be overvalued, since in the end, we all "go back in the same box."
I have found these parables helpful to navigate both my personal and professional life. Hopefully these can be of service to you as well.

Do you have or know any other parables that have helped you to navigate your life?
Please share those other parables in the comments below so that we can all learn from each other.

GUEST POST - Simple Business Plan for Simple Earnings

THIS IS THE GUEST POST. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUBMIT A GUEST ARTICLE, PLEASE CHECK OUT OUR GUEST POST GUIDELINES.

Simple Business Plan for Simple Earnings

Every business needs a plan. This is essential if you want to have your business succeed. But you do not need a complicated plan that looks like a rocket science. You need a plan that incorporates all the steps that you need to take with small error allowance. Next, you need to know your resources so that you can plan according to them. So let’s go over the steps to make a simple business plan for your business:

Step 1

It is important that you know how much money you have to invest as well as how much time you have on spare each day. That will help you plan accordingly and won’t leave you with too much work on any specific task.

Step 2

Secondly, you want to know what works and what not, so that you do the things that will help you succeed easily and quickly. You need to know what you need to know to make your business reach your desired goal, but if you need some more knowledge, you should search for more info on the web.

Step 3

As a third step, you need to put everything together. Make a plan with steps that you need to put together and write them down in the order of what needs to be done first. Then, as you write down steps, have an idea of how much something might take, so that you reserve enough time for each step.

Step 4

Money is also your resource, of course if you choose it to be so. Know which step is going to take money and how much of it, so that you reserve enough of it.

Step 5

These steps are all pretty simple and quick, but you do need to know what needs to be done so that you can write it down and combine it with the time and money you have on disposal.

Step 6

Your simple business plan should now look something like a schedule kind of plan. Once you begin with your business, you will know what you need to do and when to do it. This will make everything very simple for you and will actually have release you of some pressure.

Go on now and make your own simple business plan that is going to be your tour guide on your trip towards your destination. May your business flourish!
