Q and A

James: When did you begin to write?

Kuehn : One of my earliest memories of writing as a way to express myself is when I wrote music and lyrics.  That is when I discovered how natural it was for me to share my thoughts and feelings in this art form.  Years later I began writing articles when I was asked to write a column for the local paper.  Receiving a great deal of unexpected, positive feedback from people of how they had been encouraged and helped by what I wrote was a real motivator for me to write more.  That is when I decided to write books.

James : What made you to think of publishing a book to share with others and at the same time encourage others to share their faiths?

Kuehn : (This question is partially answered above.  I will answer it more specifically about my book, Think Like a Winner.)

The reason I wrote and published Think Like a Winner is because I want people to understand the importance of renewing their minds, as commanded in the Word of God, after they become saved.  It doesn’t just happen.  In Think Like a Winner I explain the process and give examples of how to apply and practice God’s Word.   This is the key to knowing who we are in Christ and living the abundant life Jesus died to give us.

James : So far what is your worst criticism/attacks, and how you overcome it?

Kuehn : Believe it or not, my worst criticism/attacks are against my Christian faith and my boldness in sharing it.  I do not take it personally because I know it is God they are angry with. So I overcome it by praying for these people and thanking God for using me to glorify Him.

James: How do you come up with title of your books?

Kuehn: I generally come up with the title after the book is completed.  I have a goal and direction from the start, and I pull it all together at the end because sometimes my writing takes on a different direction that I did not originally anticipate.

James: Can you enlighten us a little more about your books?

Kuehn : My books are written from the heart, and I trust the Lord to work in and through me to communicate His love, encouragement, compassion, understanding, wisdom, insight and perspective as best I can.  Because I have a passion to encourage people and help them be their best, my books are written with that goal in mind.  They are inspirational, positive and hopeful.

James: Is there anything else you would like your readers to pay special attention in regards to your book, which you have not mentioned above?

Kuehn : Yes, pay special attention to what the Lord is showing you as you read my books.  He may have a word of encouragement or comfort for you.  Be open and look to Him. It might be some new insight or direction.  You may be challenged in some way.  Be open and enjoy what you read.

James : When do you plan to publish your book 2, if applicable?

Kuehn: Currently published, see below.

James: How many volume of books for the above series?

Kuehn: The perfect companion to Think Like a Winner is In Christ, I am: God’s Promises on Who You Are in Christ that Will Transform You from the Inside Out.  It contains over 150 truths about who you are in Christ.  We renew our minds and think like a winner when we receive, believe, apply and practice these truths.   The other book included in the series is God’s Promises in 8 Keys Life Areas that Will Change Your Life.  This is another book to empower believers in applying God’s truth to their life.

James: Tell us your guided principle that governs your life? How you cultivate these values?

Kuehn:  My goal is to live my life for God.  I have a responsibility to use the gifts He has given me.  I do my best and my part, and I leave the rest to Him.   There are so many powerful principles in the Word of God.  I want to live by all of them, but if one were to be the guiding principle that governs my life, I would have to say – Love the Lord God with all your heart and soul, love others and love yourself.  If you do this, you will obey Him; you will treat others with kindness and love; you will give and help others; you will take good care of yourself; you will have your priorities in order; you will live with integrity; you will live to glorify God; you will put Him first; you will spend time with Him.  I cultivate these values by putting them into practice.  Like I share in my books, it takes time to develop good habits and replace bad ones and knowing who we are in Christ helps us to accomplish this. With God’s help, it can be done.  It takes persistence, faith and commitment.

Thank again for joining us today. So, let her rewarding and fulfilling life shine everyone.

LIVE LIFE MORE FULFILLING AND REWARDING

  1. Hi Readers,

Perhaps it is appropriate for you to read some profound points on Fear which may enable you to live life more rewarding and fulfilling..
  1. Gary Stokes January 16, 2013 at 9:36 am #
Rajesh has turned to confront his fear, and I feel exhilerated because every time someone confronts and then defeats fear, the human race has become more conscious. Darren’s experience jumping out of airplanes and overcoming his fear is a dramatic example of how direct action–doing the opposite of what our fears want us to do–produces incontrovertible evidence that our fears are illusions. James Oh points out correctly that fear is a false expectation. This is a profound truth: as long as we live in the false expectation, we live in avoidance, limiting our potential. Scott asks what would I have done if I had got punched in the face. I was ready to fight if that was necessary to protect the woman; in fact, I was expecting that I would get punched and that I might get beat up.

LIESTER BLOG AWARD

LIEBSTER BLOG AWARD

First of all, we like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to K.K.Cook (Kacii) for nominating this blog for "Liebster" award, or the "favorite blog award.

One of the pre-requisite requirements is to tell 11 things about myself.

I. 11 things about myself.

1. I am so blessed because I inherited natural wealth talents, wild imagination and weak health. I was born underweight, at only 2.5 kilos in 1961 and both my parents were very concerned that I would not be able to survive long. I had been frequently saddled with sickness in my early life. Today, I consider this weak health a Blessing because it shapes me to be better, stronger, sweeter and not bitter.

2. My talent in playing Chess was spotted by my Primary School's teacher who then coached me to be School captain. That led me to represent my school in both team and individual events in the Penang State Chess Competition in 1973.

3. I then discovered that I can overcome my physical weakness through my mental strength. I must admit that these difficulties in my life did not come to destroy me, but it helped me realise my hidden potentials.

4. With these turns, I persistently pursue my education and obtained several academic qualifications before the completion of my first Accounting Degree. At that time, I realised that I can stay above poverty through the means of education.

5. By applying my knowledge, skill and strategies I managed to grow a newly set up private aviation company to a publicly listed company and was promoted as Financial Controller of the company.

6. However in year 2000, my team and I managed to turnaround the company with Knowing-doing Gap strategies and I had then fulfilled all of my dreams at that time. I  lost my sense of purpose in my life coupled with my helplessness to defend the loss of my still born child. That's subsequently led me to lose my passion in my profession.

7. Knowing that I was dying inside and my spirit was literally drying up. So, I embarked to pursue my second degree which is in Law, and soul searching journey. That is where I hit the rock bottom of my life and is saved by the Lord. That was my weakest time, yet the strongest in my life and how I was able to stand up and pursue my bigger purpose.

 8. In 2008, I simply quit my overseas job shortly after I obtained my Permanent Resident. What at the time appeared as a bold and irresponsible decision, would soon open doors that would enable me to discover the "Missing Link" in my own life.

9. That freed me to enter into one of the most creative and bold periods of my life. Guess what? I WAS venturing into wealth coaching PROGRAM and social media at my late 40s before I completed my Certified Professional Trainee Program.

10.  With this turn again, I then realised my larger purpose of helping people to live life in more fulfilling roles. I do so by repaying back those kind souls and people who have touched my life.

11.  Thereafter, I joined Toastmasters International Club and got to know another great guy, he is none other than Dr Ralph C Smedley, the founder of the club. Another friendly and mutual supporting environment to keep his legacy alive through education. I think this is not coincidence at all, but for a purpose.

II. Questions from K.K. Cook (Kacii):

1.) What is the funniest book you've ever read?

The Chinese comic books, Lau Fu Sze.

2.) Do you prefer eBooks or print books?

I am typical conventional person, who still prefer to read the hard copies than eBook. This is because I can highlight certain passage to remind me of its application. As such, I need to review it constantly until it really sink into my mind.

3.) Favorite book of all time?

I must admit that Bible is my favorite book of all time because every time I read it,  I will receive new revelation after each reading despite the same verses just like squezzing the juice from the sugar cane.

4.) What was the best childhood book you read as a kid?

I like reading story book written by Mr. Charles Dicken “ Great Expectation" which contains lot of inspiration and high moral value.

5.) Why do you love to read?

I like to read because I can acquire other's view points. I believe that is the way for me to grow up by expanding my horizon, but also gain new perspectives. To me, that is the fundamental of education.

6.) Where do you like to read?

I do not have preference in places to read and is very flexible, so long as I can attain my peace and enjoy my reading. I prefer to be at cool place for example field, riverside and close to nature at times.

7. ) Who taught you to love book?

Those kind teachers and souls (author) because both my parent are illiterate and gave me lots of freedom.

8.) When did you realise you were addicted to books?

I believe is when I was teenager. At that time, I realized that I can overcome my physical weakness through mental health. Thereafter, I do so to stay above poverty and keep on improving myself in all aspects so as to overcome whatever storms that I have to face.

 9.) Who's your favorite author?

My current favorite author is Napoleon Hill, the author for "Think and Grow Rich".

10.) Which book are you waiting for in agony for this year?

I intend to publish my first book this year and this will be the book I am waiting in agony.

11.) Favorite movie/TV show based on a book(s) ?

Three Kingdom about the ancient history of China.

III. ) Questions from Lift You Up

1. Which book impact you the most ?

2. What do you look for in your life?

3. Share your most memorial event?

4. What is your greatest challenge in your life so far?

5. Who is the person who inspires you the most?

INTERVIEW WITH GUEST AUTHOR- MARIE HARBON

About the Author:-

I’m a UK based author who writes mainly in the science fiction, fantasy, and paranormal genres, although I may break that rule from time to time. Apart from writing, my greatest passions also include fabric and stitching; I create bags, corsets and clothing in the vintage, retro and alternative style.

Q and A

James: When did you begin to write?

I was always known for writing stories when I was at school. The teachers would read them out to the class and at age 12, I expanded an English class assignment to a novella about my class being stranded on a desert island after the cruise ship sank. It was rather Lost-esque, with giant rabbits and aliens, but the class mostly enjoyed all the interactions between the characters, as they were the stars!

Since then, I’ve written a few more novel length books, but I wanted my stories to have maturity so I waited until I was much older before I put one out. I think it’s best to write with the wisdom of experience, of relationships and of people. It creates stronger characters and enriched interactions between them. So in conclusion, I think writing has always been in my blood.

James : What make you to think of publishing a book to share with others and at the same time encourage others to share their faiths? So far what is your worst criticism/attacks, and how you overcome it?

It’s something I always intended to do, especially as I’m happy creating my own little worlds in my head. Usually, criticism tends to come from readers who venture out of their genre, or who don’t understand the book is part of a series and no plot threads are going to be resolved in the first book. If it isn’t constructive criticism, I tend to ignore it.

James: How you come up with title of your books?

I usually look for a powerful word, or something enigmatic like ‘Seven Point Eight’. My preference is for words and titles that aren’t used much, therefore they stand out.

James: Can you enlighten us a little more about your books?

It amalgamates all the things that interest me and that I’ve read about, including psychic powers, time travel, past lives, folklore, aliens, ancient wisdom and technology, quantum physics, mysticism, conspiracy, and the universe. I wanted to create a highly ambitious series that encompasses life, the universe and everything, in an epic story revolving around five principal characters.

The concept revolves around visiting other worlds via the power of the mind, so you don’t need your physical body. Through consciousness alone, it’s possible to explore not only the universe, but your own spiritual heritage. The series involves a group of extraordinary people, and their quest for the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

James: Is there anything else you would like your readers to pay special attention in regards to your book, which you have not mentioned above?

The Seven Point Eight Chronicles
‘The Truth Will Set You Free’

Written in the style of a TV series, Seven Point Eight draws together quantum physics, psychic powers, alternate dimensions, time travel, past lives, ancient wisdom, and conspiracy in a soap opera for the soul.

It’s the ideal read for lovers of sci-fi, contemporary fantasy, the paranormal, metaphysics, ‘Lost’, ‘Fringe’, ‘Touch’, and Dan Brown books.

Seven Point Eight: The Second Chronicle
‘What Goes Around, Comes Around’

In the second instalment of the five part Seven Point Eight series, the legacy of the OOBE project weighs heavily on the conscience of Dr. Paul Eldridge. Tahra Mamoun needs to muster all her courage and venture back into the alternate dimensions of reality. Through a series of challenging, surreal and frightening experiences, she comes to comprehend the destructive power she can yield and must face her own demons in the process.

Paul continues his quest to understand the ancient knowledge of the cosmos, while dark forces seek to hijack his research to further a secret agenda. With their lives in jeopardy, Paul and Tahra confront their enemies against an international backdrop featuring the pyramids of Giza and the peaks of Switzerland.

Meanwhile, Sam and Ava endeavour to uncover their past, even though it may irrevocably change their lives.

In a tale of courage and tragedy, love and betrayal, their lives are interwoven around the demons of one man, Max Richardson, who'll stop at nothing to achieve his objectives.

James: When do you plan to publish your book 2, if applicable?

This is book 2 that I’m promoting.

James : How many volume of books for the above series?

There are five in all. The First Chronicle came out about eighteen months ago, The Second Chronicle has just been released, and The Third Chronicle is scheduled for next year, no specific release day yet.

Each book will feature a main character on the cover, with the story involving them in a significant way. The first book depicted Tahra, as she is the key to beginning this whole journey in many ways, while the second one depicts Max, because I think his story arc is central to the action in the story, and links the character in a very dark and sinister way.

The Third Chronicle will feature Ava and in this book, her purpose and secrets will be revealed, as will her enemies and allies. I have something really wonderful planned for her, although it’ll change her life in ways she may regret. The Fourth Chronicle focuses on Paul to a large degree, because there’s a chunk of his life he hasn’t told us about, and it will be pretty explosive for the people concerned. Finally, The Fifth Chronicle concludes with the focus on Sam, his demons and dilemmas, plus, it wraps up all the story threads and mysteries running throughout the series.

I have some great story arcs lined up for all the characters, they’d better hold onto their hats!

James: Tell us your guided principle that governs your life? How you cultivate these values?

My principles are ‘do what you believe to be right, regardless of what you are told’. Avoid hypocrisy, and extend empathy towards others. Experience life through creativity and love for humanity. Empower yourself within, not through outward displays of materialism. Seek the truth, regardless of what you are told. I try to communicate my principles through my writing.
James: Is there any other advice which you like to share with our readers?

Don’t rush; craft your story with care, patience and above all, passion. Pass it to a variety of people to read in beta form, and ideally one or two people you don’t know very well, so you can get a more unbiased opinion. Take on feedback and appraise your work with honesty. Then after it’s published, be prepared to work extremely hard promoting it.  See it as a journey and enjoy the ride.

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

On October 2 1869, a remarkable, reputable and respectable man was born in India who had a dream to change humanity for the better. He led India to independence and inspired movements for initiating non-violence, civil rights and freedom across the world – right up until his assassination in 1948. This man was of course the great Mahatma Gandhi. He is my childhood’s hero till to-date and I must admit that he had impacted and transformed my life significantly. Though he had gone, his spirit is still strong in his absence.
To KICK START WITH THE NEW GREAT YEAR 2013, we at this blog wanted to share some of his most inspirational quotes AND TEACHINGS that still have as much significance and relevance in today’s rapid changing world as they did back when they were first spoken.
“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.” – Mahatma Gandhi
“Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.” – Mahatma Gandhi
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” – Mahatma Gandhi

“An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind.” – Mahatma Gandhi
“You may never know what results come of your action, but if you do nothing there will be no result.” – Mahatma Gandhi

“You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.” – Mahatma Gandhi

“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” – Mahatma Gandhi

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” – Mahatma Gandhi

“Men often become what they believe themselves to be. If I believe I cannot do something, it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe I can, then I acquire the ability to do it even if I didn’t have it in the beginning.” – Mahatma Gandhi

“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall – think of it, ALWAYS.” – Mahatma Gandhi

Out of THE ABOVE teachings and words of wisdom, which resonate with you the best AND WHY ?

So, let us stand united and embraced Unconditional Love to be the guidance of our lives, if we want to have a secured and better future. This is proven recipe for Success.

BE CONSCIOUS OF ITS EFFECT GOOD AND BAD

STORY OF APPRECIATION

**Story of Appreciation**

One young academically excellent person went to apply for a

managerial position in a big company.

He passed the first interview, the director did the last

interview, made the last decision.

The director discovered from the CV that the youth's

academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the

secondary school until the postgraduate research,

Never had a year when he did not score.

The director asked,

"Did you obtain any scholarships in school?"

The youth answered "none".

The director asked,

" Was it your father who paid for your school fees?"

The youth answered,

"My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my

mother who paid for my school fees.

The director asked,

" Where did your mother work?"

The youth answered,

"My mother worked as clothes cleaner.

The director requested the youth to show his hands.

The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and

perfect.

The director asked,

" Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes

before?"

The youth answered,

"Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read

more books.

Furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me.

The director said,

"I have a request. When you go back today, go and clean

your mother's hands, and then see me tomorrow morning.*
The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high.

When he went back, he happily requested his mother to let

him clean her hands. His mother felt strange, happy but with

mixed feelings, she showed her hands to the kid.

The youth cleaned his mother's hands slowly. His tear fell as

he did that. It was the first time he noticed that his mother's

hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in

her hands. Some bruises were so painful that his mother

shivered when they were cleaned with water.

This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair

of hands that washed the clothes everyday to enable him to

pay the school fee. The bruises in the mother's hands were

the price that the mother had to pay for his graduation,

academic excellence and his future.

After finishing the cleaning of his mother's hands, the youth

quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother.

That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.

Next morning, the youth went to the director's office.

The Director noticed the tears in the youth's eyes, asked:

" Can you tell me what have you done and learned

yesterday in your house?"

The youth answered,

" I cleaned my mother's hand, and also finished cleaning all

the remaining clothes'

The Director asked,

" please tell me your feelings."

The youth said,

Number 1,

I know now what is appreciation. Without my mother, there

would not the successful me today.

Number 2,

By working together and helping my mother, only I now

realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done.

Number 3,

I have come to appreciate the importance and value of

family relationship.

The director said,

" This is what I am looking for to be my manager. I want to

recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a

person who knows the sufferings of others to get things

done, and a person who would not put money as his only

goal in life. You are hired.

Later on, this young person worked very hard, and received

the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked

diligently and as a team. The company's performance

improved tremendously.

A child, who has been protected and habitually given

whatever he wanted, would develop "entitlement

mentality"and would always put himself first. He would be

ignorant of his parent's efforts.

When he starts work, he assumes that every person must

listen to him, and when he becomes a manager, he would

never know the sufferings of his employees and would

always blame others.

For this kind of people, who may be good academically, may

be successful for a while, but eventually would not feel

sense of achievement.

He will grumble and be full of hatred and fight for more. If

we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing

love or are we destroying the kid instead?*

You can let your kid live in a big house, give him a Driver

&; Car for going around, Eat a Good Meal, learn Piano,

Watch a Big Screen TV. But when you are Cutting Grass,

please let them experience it. After a Meal, let them Wash

their Plates and Bowls together with their Brothers and

Sisters. Tell them to Travel in Public Bus, It is not because

you do not have Money for Car or to Hire a Maid, but it is

because you want to Love them in a right way. You want

them to understand, no matter how rich their parents are,

one day their hair will Grow Grey, same as the Mother of

that young person. The most important thing is your kid

learns how to appreciate the effort and experience the

difficulty and learns the ability to work with others to get

things done..

Pls share it
