YOU ARE THE LANDSCAPER OF YOUR LIFE. DISCUSS
"There will always be a circumstance in life that we will need to overcome...always, this is just a fact of life. We can't control everything that happens in life, but, we can control our reaction to what happens....we can control out attitude, our determination, and our decisions.
Don't let yourself be paralyzed by the pain that someone else has caused...know your worth! You have within you the strength to stand proud....so do it!
Know you are not in control of the actions of others, you are only in control of your actions and reactions. Know that even if you are feeling miserable you have the power to control your emotions...to turn things around by shifting your thinking.
In your life you can control...
Your values
Your morals
Your beliefs
You thoughts
Your decisions.
Knowing this...always remembering this, will give you freedom to be who you need to be in order to live your life with dignity. No one can (nor should you allow them to) take these away from you. This is your power! This is your strength! It belongs to you and no one else. OWN IT!!!!" ~Kim Bayne

THE LAUGHTER OF GOD BOOK TOUR
The Time Under
Heaven
by Laurinda
Wallace
Book Description:
Time seems to be against missionary Ruthanne Carroll.
Suddenly faced with a life threatening illness, she reluctantly returns to the
U.S. from a small Maasai village in Kenya. Once she reunites with her sisters
Elizabeth and Melody, she clearly sees God’s hand leading her to uncover a
guilty secret from her past. A journey to uncover the truth leads them through
sometimes dangerous circumstances and battles with old hurts. Each find their
faith and relationships challenged as they reach a crossroads where the choices
are healing and reconciliation or bitterness and defeat.
About the Author:
I've been writing stories since elementary school days and
always have a good mystery book nearby. Life just isn't complete without books.
There's nothing like a comfy chair, a cup of coffee, and all day to read. I
also love my Kindle, which saves on shelf space and feeds my reading habit so
conveniently.
Once our two daughters, Megan and Emily were grown, my
husband, David and I left our native Western New York for sunnier skies and
warmer weather in southeast Arizona. The
high desert with its beautiful mountain views, awe-inspiring night skies, and
independent spirit brought back the old desire to write. Since 2005, I've been
writing for various magazines and websites on a variety of topics. With the
creative juices flowing and encouragement from family and friends, books soon
appeared.
In the 2012, my debut novel, The Time Under Heaven was
published, along with a devotional book called Gardens of the Heart. The first
book in the Gracie Andersen mystery series, Family Matters was published in
2013. My blog, SimplyLife is a popular stop for many of my readers from around
the world. You'll find everything from inspirational thoughts, local history,
humor, or simply life.
When I'm not at my day job in administration or writing at
home, the gardens around Casa Wallace and hiking in the Huachuca Mountains keep
me busy. Many times what's happening in my flower gardens or those spectacular
views in the mountains inspire devotionals and new stories. While life is full
of unexpected twists and turns, my foundation will always be the One who
created the roses in my garden and the mountains I love to hike. He is my
source for everything.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your
own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your
path. Proverbs 3:5,6

GUEST AUTHOR INTERVIEW WITH Terry S Bradley
Here is my interview post with guest Author, today.
1.James : When did you begin to write?
I began writing three years ago in terms of letting others see my writing, although I wished I had knew this love long before.
2.James : When did you first discover that you were a writer?
In 2010 when dealing with a part of my life that need a very tender and self explanatory letter, I discovered I was a writer. Although very personal in nature, I shared the letter before sending it in, as to ensure its content was the right approach, even down to the paper it was written on. I knew as soon as I wrote it, it was a great opening to a movie or book. The response from all who I shared it with, just as I had expected, with tears filing there eyes as the heart felt emotion lifted of the pages.
3.James : How much did you write before you were published?
Everything I have sent in has been accepted to be published if not by one, by many. Whether it was poetry or story line, I have been very blessed as to the response I have received through my writing.
4.James : What is your favorite part of writing?
The flow of the words as they are combined to give meaning or bring to life what one has to say. I have joy in the developing of the story and in what all writers hope everyone enjoys.
5.James : Tell us about your latest release?
In polling my first draft for How Bees Came To Make Chili. I handed out over five hundred copies of a short version and the response was without a doubt, excellent. The best approach in determining once again, what I already knew. It is a story all can support. It was cute by nature and people love it. The care most took in its handling was amazing. I was told by my printer and I quote" that I was throwing money way,They would just be laying all in the street." This indeed was at a chili contest where the first polling took place. Not one did I see laying in the street afterwards. In the days and weeks to follow I had many chances to observe the reactions of many from a distance, or just made to stand there as they read it and had me sign it on the spot.
The book itself has received the same praise and response receiving a reception of five star reviews.
6.James : Wow! This book sounds really good. Are you planning on writing more in the years to come?
How Bees Came To Make Chili was as well designed to be a series of short stories for children. As well I have just began to write, whether it is poetry, short stories or stories yet to be told. I plan to write as long as I can draw upon life and the air we all breathe.
7.James : So far what is your worst criticism/attacks, and how have you overcome it?
Does not apply. It has been a blessing to find writing and the course at which it has taken has led to no negative recourse. Other than a few misspelled words.
8.James : What is the accomplishment that you are most proud of?
That goal has not been met and will not be reached until The Megan L. Bradley Foundation has been set up to help others.
9.James : What does your writing process look like?
I just write if it works I keep it. If not, I file it to look at later. If I can fix it, I do. If I can not but still think I can, I refile it. If not ,I discard it.
10.James : How did you get published?
Submissions, Time, Patience, Perseverance and Lots more Patience in waiting for just the right offer and fit to proceed forward. Though accepted by many with offers being made it was not until the offer with KG Books came along with other factors such as illustrations that allowed the publication of " How Bees Came To Make Chili ". With each offer there are lessons to be learned, with each lesson it falls upon you to keep things moving forward even if the road you travel leads you down unexpected paths.
11.James : How do you come up with the title of your book?
This is easy in most cases whether born out of the idea or the story itself. Titles are but labels waiting to be used, you may pick one up and there is a story, or as a story evolves watch it jump back at you, then you know that's it.
12.James : Can you enlighten us a little more about your books?
My projects or books all have one thing in common. They all have a goal or point to them in which can be laid out and understood easily. All projects or books also contain aspects of hope with an intent of understanding to help make the world better. At least it is my goal for the interpretation of the readers and people that work with me as I work with them, hopefully can conclude.
13.James: Tell us your guiding principle that governs your life?
It is up to all who is born to try and make the world a better place. Just as it is a parents responsibility to provide a safe, loving and protective environment. To keep a child safe so that they to can grow, to become aware of right and wrong and what is best for the world as a whole through understanding.
14.James : How have you cultivated these values?
My motto is Dream Big, Hope and Belief Equals the Power to Overcome! It is through understanding that hope and beliefs are even possible regardless of one path through out life.
15.James : Do you have any advice for writers looking to get published?
Believe in yourself even if no one else does. We all have a story. Telling that story is what can change the world be it through laughter, tears, understanding or observation. Stories fill in the missing pieces. Life provides much more than just words on paper.

BOOK REVIEW - JOURNALING WITH JESUS - HOW TO DRAW CLOSER TO GOD BY CAROL ROUND
BOOK REVIEW – JOURNALING WITH JESUS - HOW TO DRAW CLOSER TO

This is a great

His plan for me. Wouldn't you like to do the same?
So get hold of the

bring great benefits to you to be used as God's vessel to bring glory to Him.

Her writing
talents together with her well precise crafted skills truly deliver the message
clearly and vividly. You will be surprised to find it so easy to read yet you
will flow with it in such a powerful and insightful manner. Amazingly well
done, I must say. This is a quick, easy and good read, yet filled with
very strong sensation for you in building intimate relationship with the
Creator to grow your faith.
There is a good
reason for Carol Round to share her own gifts and experience to shed some light
especially to those who do not have any clue to draw closer to God. Her belief
in Christ and how she grows her faith through her journey is well reflected in
her writing and guided by the Holy Spirit. This book is truly enlightening with
God’s wisdom. It definitely serves as timeless spiritual-growth book.
I received a review copy of the book for the purpose of writing a fair and honest review and no other compensation.
“Journaling with Jesus; How To draw Closer to God ” is a book of its kind which provides us not only a road map to keep track of our spiritual journey, but grow with it. Cultivating such a good habit and continuously having communication with God is one of the surest ways to draw closer to God exactly prescribed by the title of the book. It serves wide and diverse needs especially for those who want to be exposed and learn the highest and divine perspective on life. Don’t take my word for it, check it out yourself.
This book also gives you a deep understanding in growing up in Christ. It gives you a solid, profound and sound understanding for having communication with God through frequent journaling.
What I enjoyed most about this book is its fascinating way of discovering the power of journaling of our spiritual journey- a tool for examining your life. You will tend to apprehend the benefits of keeping a journal to lead our insight and growth. That’s what makes this book truly worth reading.
As you read through the book, you will be able to visualise how this habit will further enhance your prayer life and deepen your relationship with God. I must say that this exercise will further enhance clarity of your thoughts, the new discovery of yourself and allows more freedom to express yourself and gain the appropriate perspective. This book is not meant to persuade or dissuade you – it’s meant to spread the gospel and live in a live in a way that shines and glorifies the Living and Mighty God.
This book is highly recommended for spiritual development. It is definitely well placed as a Christmas' and festive gifts. The Title of the book is Short, Simple and Precise to the point.
“Journaling
with Jesus How to Draw Closer to God” is definitely a fundamental book which
guide us to cultivate good habit in journaling our spiritual journey; a healthy
perseverance of spiritual discipline that will draw you closer to God. It is a
marvelous tool! In short, you will be empowered by it. Then you'll grow up
mature and whole in God.
This book is
also ideal for anyone who has lost direction and is living life with vanity,
and dislike heavy reading.
Last, but not least, this book would make a lovely valuable and meaningful Christmas present.
I must deeply thank Carol for this great book and am also deeply delighted that the Author finally found her peace. I pray that Lord will continue to use her mightily so as to transform abundance of people for His glory.

GUEST AUTHOR INTERVIEW WITH CAROL ROUND
About the Author
CAROL ROUND, self-syndicated columnist, Christian author and inspirational speaker, began her journey with the Lord in October 2001 when she admitted her need for His guidance. Since that time, she has sought a deeper relationship with Him through reading scripture, Bible study and the personal discipline of keeping a daily prayer journal. After being encouraged by other Christian women, she has compiled her experiences with prayer journaling into Journaling with Jesus.
Here is the interview..
James: When did you begin to write?
CAROL ROUND, self-syndicated columnist, Christian author and inspirational speaker, began her journey with the Lord in October 2001 when she admitted her need for His guidance. Since that time, she has sought a deeper relationship with Him through reading scripture, Bible study and the personal discipline of keeping a daily prayer journal. After being encouraged by other Christian women, she has compiled her experiences with prayer journaling into Journaling with Jesus.
Here is the interview..
James: When did you begin to write?
Carol: Since I was able to write my name, I have been writing poems and stories. After retiring from a 30-year teaching career in 2005, I began to pursue my love of writing full-time as a self-syndicated columnist, freelance writer and book author.
James: When did you first discover that you were a writer?
Carol: I majored in journalism and English when I was in college. I had always loved to read and write so I began writing news and feature stories while in college.
James: How much did you write before you were published?
Carol: I began being published as soon as I started writing news and feature stories for the college newspaper and local and state newspapers. However, my first book, A Matter of Faith came out in 2006.
James: What is your favorite part of writing?
Carol: My favorite part of writing is the creation process. I love putting pen to paper or composing at the keyboard to write a newspaper column or a book. I forget the time as I weave words into a creation.
James: Tell us about your latest release.
Carol: My latest release is The 40-Day Challenge, a companion workbook to Journaling with Jesus: How to Draw Closer to God.
James: Wow! This book sounds really good. Are you planning on writing more in the years to come?
Carol: I sent a children’s manuscript to a publisher in May. I am still waiting to hear back. I am currently working on a novel while continuing to write my weekly column.
James: So far, what are your worst criticism/attacks, and how have you overcome it?
Carol: Out of 36 reviews for Journaling with Jesus: How to Draw Closer to God on Amazon, I received two negative ones. The first one made me sad—as well as mad—because the reviewer admitted he had not read the entire book. I thought it was unfair for him to give it a negative review without having finished the book. I think what helped me to overcome the negative reviews was receiving so many positive ones.
James: What is the accomplishment that you are most proud of?
Carol: I am most proud of the fact that I have been able to continue—with God’s Holy Spirit—to write a 500-word column each week for almost 8 years. My column, “A Matter of Faith,” runs in 12 Oklahoma newspapers and 2 international publications. I would not be doing a column without God’s nudging and continual guidance.
James: What does your writing process look like?
Carol: When I write a column, I compose it at the computer after I pray, asking God to give me the words He wants me to use to reach the people He wants me to reach. My column ideas come from various sources: scripture, news events, other people in my life and events in my life or others.
James: How did you get published?
Carol: I self-published my first two collections of columns, which read like daily devotionals. I used Instant Publishing. Then, I learned that an author friend had started a small publishing company and was seeking inspirational titles. I submitted my books to him and he accepted them, combining the two into one volume. A year later, he released my second collection of columns.
Westbow Press released my third book on prayer journaling in 2012, but I chose to use CreateSpace for the companion workbook because I am able to keep more of the profits from the sales. I still have to promote my books whether I am traditionally published or self-published.
James: How do you come up with title of your books?
Carol: I brainstorm ideas. I just start making a list of possible titles and then narrow them down. I also ask for input from friends.
James: Can you enlighten us a little more about your books?
Carol: Three of my five books are collections of my weekly columns. The titles are A Matter of Faith, Faith Matters and by FAITH alone. The columns are like daily devotionals. I decided to put them in book collections because my readers were responding with positive feedback.
My book, Journaling with Jesus: How to Draw Closer to God, is a small book but gives the reader the tools and encouragement to start keeping a prayer journal. I wrote the book after 10 years of keeping a prayer journal and speaking at women’s retreats on the topic. Women started asking me if I had a book about prayer journaling. I knew that God was leading me on the journey to write one.
The companion workbook, The 40-Day Challenge, came about because at the end of Journaling with Jesus: How to Draw Closer to God, I challenge the reader to sign a covenant with God to keep a prayer journal for 40 days. The workbook offers prayer journaling challenges for each day.
James: Tell us your guiding principle that governs your life?
Carol: The guiding principle governing my life is “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
James: How have you cultivated these values?
Carol: Reading the Bible every day and keeping a prayer journal draws me closer to God and His guiding principles for our lives. If everyone practiced this one principle, our world would be a much better place.
James: Do you have any advice for writers looking to be published?
Carol: Practice your craft by
- Taking online writing courses
- Attending writing conferences
- Subscribing to writing magazines like Writer’s Digest
- Seeking constructive feedback
- Getting your manuscript professionally edited
- Reading—read and read some more—not just in your genre either
- Joining a writers’ group
Thank Carol for her time and effort to attend this interview.
Wishing all the best to her.

YES! MORE 5 STARS RATING RECEIVED FOR "BETTER THAN THE BEST"
Reviews
Review by: Carol Round on July 11, 2013 :

"Better than the Best" is chock full of inspiration as the author not only shares his journey but encourages others on theirs. I finished the book, encouraged by what James Oh has to share with his readers.
The following quote resonated with me:
"If you continuously compete with others,
You become Bitter.
But if you continuously compete with yourself,
You become Better."
When I was competing in 5K races, I finally realized that the way to improve my own time was to quit looking at those who were passing me in the race and focus on improving myself. It worked!
Kudos James for a wonderful book!
