SOUL SEARCHING JOURNEY

HI READERS,

It is a common mistake that we need to spend so much of time focused on building relationships with other people in order to achieve Success. What is the most important relationship of all, which is always more than often neglect is the relationship with our own self.

At this point you might ask yourself, what am I talking about? Though I'm with myself 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, however, I know very little about my own self until I have been transformed by my own soul searching journey couple of years ago.

Prior to this, I must admit that I am just like majority of people who are so worked up in their own lives that they've forgotten who they truly are. When someone asks me to introduce myself, I normally respond by telling him what I do or where I live? These are certainly important aspects of my life, but do not truly reflect me.

I often identify myself with my roles or my career that I often lose track of myself. I do not know whether you have discovered your true self or not? At that time I forgot who I wanted to be, what I truly dreamt of becoming, what I love and value. In effect, I've forgotten my "self." You may be wondering what "self" we're referring to here.

I have buried my authentic self so as to please other people, or to look good AND to be socially acceptable. To me, the effort to maintain this image not only requires too much energy, yet it is both draining and self-defeating. It took me lots of courage and time to step free of the scripted life I've been living and embark on my journey to search for who I am really in the depth of my being. I slowly peel away everything that is not essential and discover my authentic identity. I reclaimed the person the Creator truly wants of me and I find the journey very fulfilling and truly free. With the help from God that I am being transformed and rediscovered my true self. Without believing in God, I would not be able to do it by my own ability.

I remember what's most important in my life - I live for a specific purpose and love to live a meaningful life. Remember my hopes and dreams. Discover or rediscover my deepest yearnings. in order to do this, I embarked on a psychological search-and-rescue mission or soul searching journey to comb back through my life and recover my joy, wisdom, passion, enthusiasm, self-confidence, vitality - the threads of my true self that I had lost along the way.

I took my courage, commitment and perseverance to craft the life I love, most of which I have now. I share this with you with the objective that you too will make the call now to be your authentic self. I am now persistently connecting with my authentic self and reclaiming my true joys and passions that made me able to share with you all these while.

Since then I never regret and am able to do and achieve much more with less. That's something I would never have thought off and contradicted my initial belief. I also realise that I am able to do something what I would never have thought I could do. Amazingly awesome.

Folks, what I share now are something real and deeply inside me that would not be revealed unless the person is being transformed.

God Bless you all.

HEALTHY AND DELICIOUS RECIPES - PIG TROTTERS

Hi,

Especially for all those who want to keep young and look young! Take a look at this. Besides, it's yummy!!

Do YOU LIKE TO EAT PIG TROTTERS? You want to keep young and vibrant?

Hurray for "Chi Keok Cho" or Pig's Trotters in Vinegar !!

THEY ARE RICH IN COLLAGEN !

For the Chinese, trotters are a delicacy. Pigs' feet: the new superfood.

As Britain's spending on cosmetic surgery soars, Fiona MacDonald Smith suggests it's time that we chopped and changed our diet instead.

The latest anti-ageing food? Pigs' trotters. That's right, you heard it here first. In New York , the most talked-about new opening of the past couple of months has been a Japanese restaurant called Hakata Tonton, where 33 out of the 39 dishes contain pigs' feet.

The reason for this, according to its owner, Himi Okajima, is that they are rich in collagen, the protein responsible for skin and muscle tone, more recognizable to beauty addicts in the form of face creams and fillers.

"Collagen helps your body retain moisture," says Okajima, who has introduced a chain of restaurants specializing in collagen cuisine in Japan. "Your hair and skin will look better, but it's not just for looking beautiful now. If you begin eating collagen in your thirties, you will look younger in your forties."

Maybe this sounds a little improbable ("It's news to me," sniffs Lisa Miles of the British Nutrition Foundation. "I've certainly never heard of eating collagen.") but Okajima believes he is on to something. Figures published last month show that British spending on cosmetic surgery is the highest in Europe , hitting nearly £500 million in 2006, four times more than in 2001. Isn't there a cheaper solution? Couldn't eating the right foods, in the right way, be a simpler, and ultimately more long-term way to stay looking and feeling younger? "You are what you eat," says nutritional therapist Ian Marber, aka The Food Doctor.

"You can't turn the clock back but you can slow things down. Every cell replicates from RNA and DNA. In order to keep the DNA in good condition, you want to protect cells from harmful free radicals. And for this you need to eat fruit and vegetables, which contain vital anti-oxidants like vitamins A, C, E and zinc. "It doesn't have to be expensive," he adds. "I know people go on about so-called 'superfoods' which have a greater concentration of anti-oxidants, but two apples a day will give you plenty of vitamins and fibre.

You just need to ensure a varied diet." "The key is to remember we're omnivorous," agrees nutritionist Christian Lee, who is the national trainer for the Dr Nicholas Perricone cosmetics and nutrition empire. "Have you ever noticed how women age more rapidly than men? That's because they don't eat enough protein. The days you don't eat protein are the days you age. The body can't store protein, but it needs it for cellular production and function.

"At each meal you should be able to hold up three fingers and say 'I've got a good source of protein (lean fish or poultry, nuts, seeds or tofu); an essential fatty acid ( Omega 3 or 6, so that's coldwater oily fish, flaxseeds, linseeds ) and a low glycaemic carbohydrate ( fruit, vegetables, and whole grains like quinoa, buckwheat and oatmeal )'.. If you can say that, you're on the right road."

Perricone, a dermatologist, became America's most famous anti-ageing specialist with his "Three-Day Nutritional Face Lift", which extolled the virtues of eating wild Alaskan salmon twice a day, claiming its essential fatty acids would banish puffiness and tighten the skin. Uma Thurman, Heidi Klum and J-Lo are all fans. In his new book Ageless Face, Ageless Mind, which has yet to reach the UK, Dr Perricone's team assert that up to 40 per cent of wrinkles are caused by dietary sugar.

"When you eat high glycaemic carbohydrates like bread, cakes and pasta, they turn into sugar in the blood so fast that the pancreas can't respond with enough insulin and the blood becomes saturated with sugar," argues Christian Lee. "The sugar needs to go somewhere so it attaches itself to the cell membranes.

When it does this to collagen molecules in the skin, it causes the collagen to become stiff and immobile and that's the birth of the wrinkle. The bad news is that it doesn't end there - the sugar then pumps out free radicals, causing a double whammy of damage.

The good news is you can prevent it - either by cutting out sugar or by taking a supplement of alpha lipoid acid, which is 400 times stronger than vitamin C and E combined." So ditch the sugar, but don't forget the pigs' trotters.

FOODSTUFFS THAT KEEP YOU YOUNG

Spinach contains the pigment lutein, present in the retina, which helps maintain the health of the eye.

Tomatoes contain the anti-oxidant lycopene, which can protect the skin from UV damage from the sun.

Purple or red berries - such as blueberries, raspberries and strawberries - are full of anthocyanins which can help protect against diabetes, heart disease and cancer, and help maintain strong arteries.

Oily fish, such as fresh water salmon, herring, mackerel and sardines, and also flax seeds and linseeds, are the main source of omega-3 fatty acids, which can delay the ageing process of the skin.

Water: drinking more aids digestion and elimination; drinking too little can harm the complexion.

...AND SOME THAT AGE YOU

Carbonated drinks - along with tea, coffee, sugar, red meat and alcohol - can push the body's balance towards the acidic, meaning that alkaline minerals (such as calcium) are removed from bone stores to balance it, weakening the bones. Restricting them may help you keep stronger bones.

Nightshade vegetables - potatoes, tomatoes, chillies, aubergine and peppers - while often healthy in other respects, contain a chemical that studies suggest can activate pain and inflammation associated with arthritis. Avoiding these foods may help reduce it.

Refined carbohydrates - such as white bread, white rice, sugary cereals, pasta and noodles - contribute to the development of type II diabetes, which accelerates the ageing process and, if not controlled, can lead to a wide range of other health problems.

EBOOK; POPULAR FORMATS

Dear Readers,

In our preceding article on Ebook, which you may refresh your memory by clicking at the title of this article.

With the recent collapse of the world's largest high street book chains Penguin USA, resulted to the dramatic industry shifts to Ebook program. As such, we foresee this offer a great opportunity for Ebook.

Our discussion today will be specifically on Ebook formats. We decided to focus our discussion on the four most popular Ebook formats as we find that trying to get into every possible format is not practical and effective.

Before we proceed further, let us touch a little bit of its history. Ebooks have already been in existence for a while. In its early days, people tried numerous means of publishing Ebooks, this includes bundling text files into an EXE file. These Ebooks typically ran on an application similar to an internet browser where readers click on the buttons of forwards and backwards to navigate them through the book.

However, downloading of such EXE files poses a significant adverse security risk to the users' computers. As a result, this format lost its popularity speedily especially when people realised the EXE files' risks and exposure to computer viruses. Better formats were then developed without much surprise in just a matter of time.

After some research, we have decided to employ the following four principal formats for our future Ebooks:-

1) Kindle Format (AZW)

2) Portable Document Format (PDF)

3) Mobipocket Format (MOBI, PRC)

4) Epub Format (EPUB)

We shall take a brief on these formats

1) Amazon’s Kindle Format (AZW)

It is Amazon’s proprietary Ebook format based on the Mobipocket format, when Amazon bought it in 2005, with a different serial number scheme. Books sold in the Kindle Store then are delivered in this format and carried the extension .azw

2) Portable Document Format (PDF)

Adobe Systems created this PDF in 1993 as a standard format for document exchange. It was basically an image of the original document when a document was converted to PDF. One of its great benefits is that almost all computing devices have the capability to read PDFs and it has been widely accepted as one of the preferred methods of providing documents on the Internet today.

However, we began to carry around smaller devices with technology advancement. First it was laptops and then smaller devices such as Palm, Blackberries, and Iphones.

3) Mobipocket (MOBI, PRC)

Its format uses XHTML and also known as the Open Ebook standard. Mobipocket books not only can be read on the Amazon Kindle, but also several other devices that support this format that include Mobipocket Reader, a free application from Mobipocket. Its files have the extensions .mobi and .prc. This format is particularly useful especially when you need to convert a document from other formats into a format that are readable on Kindle.

4) Epub Format (EPUB)

Its name derived from the meaning of “electronic publication”. Epub is a free and also open standard for formatting ebooks.in September 2007 after it became an official standard of the International Digital Publishing Forum, superseding the Open Ebook standard. It is widely used by majority ebook stroes, with the exception of Amazon Kindle Store as menioned in point 1 above.

Ebooks in this format, with the extension .epub, are read able on most Ebook readers such as the Barnes & Noble Nook, Kobo Reader, Sony Reader, Apple iOS and Android devices.

Sad to say that Kindle users currently are not able to read ebooks in the ePub format. To make it readable, they need to convert the Ebook from ePub format to mobi format which the Kindle can read.

Trust the above discussion has somewhere give you an insight of the Ebook publishing. One interesting point to note is that now some PDF documents can also be re-flowed to fit into smaller screens.

We hope the above discussion had somewhat enlightened you to the publishing industry and we hope you can make use of it for your advancement, with an ultimate objective to lift you up in whatever endavour you undertake.

We will also write other relevant articles on Ebook so as to be more complete on this topic of our discussion.

Seeing you again and your continuous support is always greatly appreciated.

CARTOONIST - MALAYSIA'S BEST POLITICAL ( ZUNAR)

Very happy day to you,

Last night, I read the comic, 'EVEN MY PEN HAS A STAND' - a collection by Zunar, which I rarely did so. I found this comic very much different and it gave me lots of kick and I truly enjoy reading every page of it. In short, it really gives me lots of excitement and enjoyment. Every piece is so cleverly crafted to convey its heavy message, with his own view as a cartoonist and not as an illustrator. The cartoon is so lively and sensible - really can shake a Mighty one, without asserting any physical force. This is a real master piece and I read it over and over again. It is worth more than RM 25, I spent for the book with his personal autography. See the photo below:-

I can sense that he has a great passion for his work and decided to check his background. After reading through his profile, I realised that he is a man who truly knows what he wants, and brave enough to pay for whatsoever costs to achieve his mission. A man with great leadership quality that I really salute, Mr Zunar, you made us very proud of you. Thereafter, I realise that the philosophy he strongly uphold that made him outshine from the rest, so outstanding. I found him so fascinating that "his cartoons are not drawn by brush, but by brain". I said so because he has done his research well and able to portray the true message which is consistent to his conscious mind and soul. He is a man of principle that earns his readers' hearts.

Every piece is from his heart, so lively and touching every heart of his readers. He truly deserves the praise that is the driving force for me to write this post, to show my appreciation to his significant contribution to this art. While writing this article, my heart is gaining momentum and had convinced me to promote this healthy art to enrich our lives, the same I have done for my tea art blog at http://teaartblogspot.com.

Another interesting point about him is that his clear responsible conscience and his desire to be a patriot to his country makes him - A Real National Hero in my eyes, much more than a cartoonist. He may look as one-sided criticising the existing ruling party, but one thing I do agree with him is that in a country that is facing a moral crisis like Malaysia, criticising is not an agenda but a responsibility in line with the saying " The higher level of patriotism is to tell the truth in front of an unjust ruler."

In May 2011, the Cartoonist Rights Network International, announced him as the recipient for the award of 'Courage in Editiorial Cartooning' for the year. Big congratulation and well done. Zunar, we are proud of you for being a true Fighter.

Here, we at this blog also like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the American cartoonists who organised a charity dinner "The 23rd Cartoons and Cocktails" on October 2010 at the National Press Club in Washington for my fellow Malaysian who was lock-up under the Sedition Act 1948. Special thanks to Mr. Mark Fiore, the 2010 Pulitzer Prize winner for editorial cartoons, who promoted Zunar's cartoon books in the event.

As such, we urge more people to step forward to extend your support to promote and cultivate this art. Let this art to be created freely and without much interference from the ruling party of any government. We should not be afraid and bow to any force should we stand right with our conscience. We can't conceal any wrong especially in the today's technological world.

Therefore, we at this blog, urge all artists to forge a united force to create a higher level of success for this industry. Let us be honest to ourselves, who will care if we don't. Let this industry prospers and let us not bow to any unhealthy pressures.

To our greater success,

YOUR CHIEF SERVANT

James Oh

HOW TO BE ENERGETIC

DEAR EVERYONE,

To do so, energy is a key source. How to be energetic is today’s discussion? Here, we are more than happy to hear from you as how you are able to do so? As far as I am concern, to stay at the peak of my form, is to be action oriented, moving fast, and be extremely productive. To achieve this end, I must say that I need to have high levels of physical and mental energies.

For me to take maximum advantage and effect of all the possibilities surrounding me, and to stay enthusiastic about life and learning to motivate others and moving ahead, I need to organize my life so that I feel terrific about myself most of the time.

1. Right Foods and Thoughts

The fundamental key to high energy is having a proper diet and thoughts. To perform my best, I not only need to eat the right foods, in the right balance, and in the right combination. The diet has an inordinate impact on the amount of energy I have. Apart from this, I need to feed appropriate thoughts to my mind. You are well aware that our thoughts become us. As such, we need to feed right thoughts, in positive notes, to our mind, in line with computer term GIGO. In this sense, always use the positive words rather negative tone, so as to attract the positive ones to us.

2. Maintain Ideal Weight

To have a proper weight is crucial here. Proper weight is essential for health, happiness, and long life. Being slightly under your ideal weight is best. Work it out if you are not satisfied with your current level of physical health by setting specific goals for yourself for the weeks and months ahead.

3. Exercise

Proper and sufficient physical and mental exercise is definitely good in order for you to be energetic. One of the best activities to attain high energy and physical fitness is through aerobic exercise. This type of exercise requires you to get your heart rate up to about 120 to 160 beats per minute, depending on your age.

4. Sufficient Rest and Recreation

Proper and sufficient rest is critically important, however it is often neglected. On average, you need seven to eight hours of sleep each night to be fully rested and at least one full day off each week during which you don't have to work at all. Regular mini-holidays of two or three days each, every couple of months is very encouraged. Better still, if you could take one and two week vacations each year where you can really relax completely and get your mind totally off your work.

5. Maintain a Positive Mental Attitude

To achieve this end, you need to eliminate all the negative emotions, otherwise your energy will be drained out unnecessary. This is one of the key deciding factors that determine whether you have a long and happy life or not. As such, your level of health and happiness very much depends on your ability to attract what you want and keep in your mind; whether positively or negatively. Choice is yours.

6. Mental Fitness Program

To resolve to this program, we need to cultivate a good habit to think and talk positively and optimistically about our goals, other people, and everything that is going on in our life. That’s the main driving force for me to keep on writing something and be inspiring in one of my blogs, at http://liftyouup.blogspot.com so as to condition my mind set to stay positive and to keep my momentum. As a reader, you may benefit by reading it regularly. Once, you practise it, you will realise its’ benefits in the long run. To stay positive, the tendency of attracting positive elements to you is always very much higher.

7. Be a Personal Powerhouse

The more you practise the health habits we have talked about, naturally you will have more energy and vitality. The more you direct your conversation to focus on your goals and on the things you want, the greater the amount of strength and power you will feel in line with the law of Attraction. You will not only be more vigilant, but you will also feel more positive and ultimately be more action oriented in every situation.

Be Action oriented

Resolve to become intensely action oriented from now on; act promptly whenever you get a good idea or anything you need to be done. Remember time is money and essence in anything we do. Look forward and keep moving.

James Oh

MALAYSIA NEWS

Dear Readers,

Greetings from Malaysia.

We, at this blog, gives a warm welcome to the release of the six leaders of Party Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) after numerous loud calls from the public, various local organisations inclusive of MIC ( a component party of the Ruling Party) and overseas institutions especially the worldwide Human Rights Organisation. As such, this has not put our efforts into waste. They have been detained for 28 days over their alleged involvement in foreign-aided and subversive activities against the nation despite Bersih 2.0 chair person Datuk S, Ambiga refuted the police's grounds of arrest that they were involved in planning the July 9 Bersih rally.

Here, we also write to express our heartfelt thanks to various authorities who were willing to reconsider their decision after a huge cry from the public and our neighbouring countries. This shown that the authorities have begun to open their ears to listen to its people, who voted them in the first place.

We are also glad to hear from the local news that the six appeared to be in good health, despite being tired, and reported to be happy after being released without restriction. In this connection, we also write to thank those who were concerned and continuously pray for them. Likewise, we have mentioned before and do not mind to repeat that there is nothing we cannot achieve if we work together. As such, we do encourage more people to step forward to join us in bringing a higher level of democracy to this country for the betterment of everyone here.

This series of events have shown a step forward to strengthen democracy in this country. Now, it is a real test to see whether we can sustain and step forward to a higher level to the First World, as stated in our preceeding article. You may read it by clicking at the title of this post.

Now, we urge all parties to put aside their differences and come together to plot a higher chapter of democracy to this country. We hope this memorable day is another landmark for us to celebrate in the coming National day, at the end of month, which we hope will bring more significant and colourful meaning to our independence. Let us put the efforts of our Father of Indepence, Tunku Abdul Rahman and his teams into good use and well rewarded manner, as the way we always claim, "Malaysia Boleh".

WORDS TO THE SONG

Happy day, Everyone,

Below is the song,

- GIVEN YOU

by James Oh

Trust you find it not only refreshing, but also lift you up to a certain extend.

                                         It has given you
                                More than words could describe

                                     Something you may not
                                                See
                                             Embrace
                                                 or
                                                 Touch
                                            Our hearts

                                       It has given you
                                    Something you could
                                           Feel
                                           See
                                           Smell
                                              and
                                               Taste
                                       Our sweet and juicy lives

                                       It has given you
                                    Something you could
                                              Read
                                         Thoughtful
                                              Happy
                                              and
                                              Lovely
                                  From our articles

                                      It has given you
                               Something you can't replace
                                        Beautiful
                                         Special
                                           Joyful
                                        Blissful
                                             and
                                         Lovely
                               That sent from above

                               It has given you
                               Something that is
                                        True
                                    Peaceful
                                       and
                                      Graceful
                                 From our minds and souls

But we have yet figured out
what it is you truly want

GUEST INTERVIEW WITH ANGEL HAZE

Hi Everyone,
It is a great pleasure to have ANGEL HAZE AND HER BOOKS BLOODLETTER AND LEGACIES OF TALIMURA: WAR OF THE WITCH REVIEW today. A very warm welcome, ANGEL and thanks ANGEL for giving us the chance to get to know you more and also for allowing us a glimpse of the world that you have created inside your writing. Thank you very much. Let her walk through her profile and books, as appended below, before we kick off the Q + A session.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR -ANGEL HAZE

Angel is a Canadian author who spent her teens watching CSI, studying forensics and reading mysteries. She lives with her brilliant husband who co-authors her fantasy novels. Follow her on Twitter @AngelHaze7 or her website at www.angelhaze.com

ANGEL HAZE is the author of the books below.

Bloodletter

Legacies of Talimura: War of the Witch

The release date of Bloodletter and Legacies of Talimura: War of the Witch is set for the end of June 2011.

Q&A portion:

James: When did you begin to write?

Angel: I was about seven or eight, writing about a little girl who ran away from home. (I was an avid reader of The Boxcar Children Series by Gertrude Chandler Warner.) It wasn't until I was fourteen when I thought of writing as more than a hobby.

James : What made you choose this genre and the title of your book?

Angel: I have a life-long passion for thrillers. My greatest influences are Tess Gerritsen and Dean Koontz. The title of Bloodletter was chosen when I was about nineteen. I wanted the name of the killer, as dubbed by the media, to be catchy and chilling with underlying meaning.

Originally, War of the Witch was going to be called Legacy. My husband and I knew we had to change the title as the book progressed and ideas of prequels and sequels started building up. The title of Legacy did not allow for the possibility of other books so we ran through a list of world names and came up with Talimura. Then we had to think of which legacy this book centered on--Debonair, the beautiful, malevolent witch or the Falchion, the legendary sword used to defeat her?

James: Where do you get the inspiration for your stories?

Angel: My passion for forensics, delving into the criminal mind and true crime stories inspires most of my thriller novels.

War of the Witch was actually my husband's idea. Bringing his idea to life has been one of the most exciting adventures. With fantasy, there is limitless freedom to create the world you want. Whereas I gather my inspiration from World of Warcraft and Chinese history, my husband attributes his inspiration to drinking and pacing the back deck. :)

James: Can you enlighten us a little more about your books?

Angel:

BLOODLETTER:

Thou shalt not kill.

A contradictory message written in blood at the scene of a young woman's murder. Within days, another body surfaces with a similar calling card and, to Detective Ramon Faust and Criminalist Kelly Garret, it's clear a deadly game is underfoot.

As the rash of horrific crimes continue, a phone call unearths a shocking revelation: Nakeita isn't the first city the elusive killer has left his mark. The Bloodletter, as dubbed by the media, has played his deadly game before.

Delving deep into the most terrifying case of Kelly?s career, threatening phone calls and flashbacks of a forgotten near-death experience challenge her sanity and the lives of everyone she loves.

LEGACIES OF TALIMURA: WAR OF THE WITCH

Debonair, a witch from the Unspoken-of Lands, has meddled in the forbidden practice of magic and created an army of nightmarish proportions. When sixteen-year-old Astanyx and his two best friends return from a hunting trip to find their small town of Polca reduced to smoke and ash, they find themselves thrust into a battle for which they haven't been trained.

With the help of his comrades, including an esteemed warrior, one of the last great wizards and a princess they've sworn to protect, Astanyx must fight to unite the kingdoms of the humans, dwarves and elves. He must ask forbidden questions that no one wants to answer, questions about Talimura's dark history. As Debonair?s brutal warriors lay siege to the kingdoms, Astanyx is driven to pursue a fateful quest for a blade powerful enough to defeat the malevolent witch before she destroys the three kingdoms and unleashes an unspeakable ancient evil.

James: Is there anything else you would like your readers to pay special attention in regards to your book, which you have not mentioned above?

Angel: Throughout the books are underlying themes, hidden references and characters and motives mentioned in passing that will come into play in sequels.

James: When do you plan to publish your book 2.

Angel: Bloodletter 2 (still untitled) will be published in the Fall, along with a few other titles. The next Legacy of Talimura is still in the idea stage.

James : How many volumes of books for the above series?

Angel: LOL. I don't have an answer for that. The possibilities for each of the series are endless.

Thanks again Angel Haze for joining us today. Let us wish her a fulfilling day.
