As we always advocate that life is a choice. You can choose either to be happy or unhappy, very much depending on how you direct your thought to it. Without much delay, you may proceed to read the article appended below. For those who want to refresh themselves on my preceding article on this related article, please click the link below.

Subject: Happiness Is An Inside Job

Happiness Is An Inside Job

Author: Mac Anderson & BJ Gallagher

When I travel on business, I like to talk to the taxi drivers who take me from the airport to my hotel, or to a convention center, or to a restaurant. Taxi drivers are often immigrants with interesting personal histories and unusual cultural backgrounds. I ask them how long they've been in America, how they chose which city to live in, and what they like best about where they live.

Of course, I also ask them for advice on good local restaurants and any special attractions they'd recommend to a visitor. I've had some great experiences on my travels, thanks to the advice of taxi drivers.

On one trip about ten years ago, I was making conversation with the taxi driver, asking him my usual questions about how he came to live where he lived. Then I asked him a hypothetical question: "If you could live anywhere in the world --- and if money was no object - where would you live?"

Without hesitating even for a second, he replied, "I live in my heart.
So it really doesn't matter where my body lives. If I am happy inside, then I live in paradise, no matter where my residence is."

I felt humbled and a little foolish for my question. Of course he was right - happiness is an inside job. He had reminded me of something I already knew, but had forgotten. If you can't find happiness inside
yourself, you'll never find it in the outside world, no matter where you move. Wherever you go, there you are. You take yourself with you.

I am grateful for the wisdom of that taxi driver. And I'm grateful for all the wisdom others have shared with me about how to be happy.

By now we believe we have everything possible to ensure you also reap this fruits, as Valuable readers of this blog.

Stay tuned and more inspiring articles are in the pipeline for your benefits.

To our Success,

James Oh

NEVER TOO LATE

VERY WARM WELCOME TO THIS UPLIFTING BLOG,

Her motto "NEVER TOO LATE" sounds very familiar to me and I have prescribed to this formula very successfully. As such, I like to share with you with my experience because I have achieved some success through this formula. That's why I dare to step forward to vouch for this formula, with the hope that you too will prescribe to it without any hesitation. At least, we have done every possible means to pass the benefits to our readers, as a token of our appreciation for reading this uplifting blog.

I recalled when I was introduced to this motto for the very first time and I was so excited. It instantly touched my heart so deeply. Today, I have the great pleasure to share with my blog readers, who have taken the initiative to make life changing decisions to pursue their dreams. Here, I strongly believe that it is the main driving force for the award winning author, Miss Delphine who I had interviewed not long ago. I must thank her for this inspiration as it is her motto that helped her worked toward the destination she wanted. Big thanks to her. This serves to generate powerful and durable stamina for her years taken to complete her novel. Amazingly awesome.

Here, she illustrated the point well that she is not only a brave lady, but also have the courage to act upon her dreams no matter how many obstacles were ahead of her. Her right attitude of never look back is also worth to be praised and followed.

She was even able to lay foundations for her publishing company, when she almost completed her novel at the stage of putting the finishing touches to it. It would be very interesting to know how she could cope with it so well. We are pretty sure that this could really opened the eyes and affirmed the beliefs some of us have here - you can do more than one thing simultaneously, yet still stay focus on the Big goals you have, exactly like her. Hope we are not confusing you. Very well done, my friend, Delphine.

There is a certain way, though not easy, but in time can be very rewarding. With that in mind, we hope you could give her your support if this is the book of your liking. Her book of getting lost in the masses would not have happened. Thank you in advance.

It comes timely to empower me to pursue many of my unfulfilled dreams. With this motto, I strongly believe that it can reaffirm my belief and to be a much more forward looking person, who begins life with more energies to accomplish what I hope to achieve.

I am very fortunate to have her here. I must admit that I have so much to learn from her and felt indebted to her for the Value, she has shared with us during the interview. Thank you so much, Delphine.

To sum up our today's discussion, I would say that it is very fulfilling and uplifting and hope you too have the same feeling as I did. I felt that I have so much to learn from her. To repay her for what she has done for me, although she never asked from me, I like to share the poem below with her.

It's never too late to say SORRY if you need to.

It's never too late to say THANK YOU when someone does you a favour no matter how small it is.

It's never too late to GIVE BACK to the world that you live on.

It's never too late to LOVE the world you are part of it.

It's never too late to REWARD anyone who deserves it.

It's never too late to PRAISE someone who has done well.

It's never too late to FORGIVE someone who hurt you.

It's never too late to SHARE with any stranger who you care.

In short, it's never too late to do everything for GOOD.

OUR BELATED LOVING DATO' FATHER'S JULIEN - 7TH ANNIVERSARY AT SEPT 11, 2011

A very warm welcome to this uplifting blog,

As September 11 is approaching soon, many of us may recall the memorable day when the US was attacked by terrorists in her homeland where many thousands of innocent people were killed.

On the other hand, that day also reminded me of a great figure, Dato' Father A. Julien ( Feb 25, 1917 - Sept 11, 2004) who was called back to the Lord on Sept 11, 2004. See the photos yourself.

As such, this Sept 11, 2011 is coming to be his 7th anniversary. Thousands of people turned up during his funeral and many still remember him for life. I write about him, not because both of us have the same birthday or his Chinese name is the same as my Chinese sir name. But far more than these commonalities we both have. Please read further, you will then discover how he had impacted my life.

To read more about his background, please click the link below:-

http://liftyouup.blogspot.com/2010/06/heng-ee-high-school-and-its-founder.html

or you may click at the title of this post.

He had touched many thousands of peoples' heart especially the Chinese community in Malaysia, who did not believe then that he, a foreigner, would set up the Chinese school in foreigner's land. With the grace from the Lord, he was able to sustain and endure all the pains and discomfort during the period when he began to deliver his mission. Thank God that he eventually delivered his mission that turned so many peoples' heart from disbelief to belief. He then gained an honour and was well regarded as a highly respected figure by people from all walks of lives. For those who know him well, will not have a dispute about it. Please come forward to praise him that he so truly deserve.

I can't imagine what many of us would be if he had not built the Chinese school in this land. As such, we are indebted to him very much and wouldn't be able to repay him all of our lives. He had also touched our lives so much and not one of us will forget him. Though he had gone, his spirit remains. He will be remembered forever. It is my great pleasure to have a chance to write a small column in my blog so as to give him an honour he well deserved.

I recalled that he, in his life time, he will always stand by to extend his help to anyone in need. He knew that majority of the students are from poor families and he always gave us encouragement to do better in our lives. He always cultivate good values into our lives. I must say that his motivation and encouragement had really made me do the extra miles. I must thank him for my success, which would not have been achieved without his efforts. He is one of the great people who really had a great impact on my life.

With this in mind, I know there is no way I can pay him back whatsoever he had done for me. At least, I will follow his footstep to give back to the society what I have been benefiting from. The articles which I share with you from day one is also the way I had learnt from him. By doing so, I, at least feel much better by playing my small part to uplift others who may need it. This is another way for me not to put his efforts and actions into waste.

Last but not least, I hope more people will step forward and follow his footsteps to leave a resounding good legacy behind, exactly like what he had done for many of us.

Thanks and together we will make a better tomorrow for the human beings in this planet. His departure is a great loss to Malaysia as a whole, particularly Penang where he had built several schools there.

Though he is gone, his spirit is still with us forever. Thousands of people still remember him despite he had left this planet more than 6 years ago. Our school even built a statue to remember him. No doubt all these things cannot match his contribution to our society as a whole.

His humble personality and smiling face always enlighten us. I must say that He is a man of great honour, who never expect any reward for his good work. By doing so, he gain substantial respect from anyone who had dealt with him one way or the other.

For students, I hope that this article will in some way encourage you to be better persons.

James Oh

HOW TO HANDLE CHALLENGES IN LIFE

VERY WELCOME TO THIS UPLIFTING BLOG,

LIFE, in itself, is uncertain and unpredictable, however life is created for us to enjoy. Surprises and excitements are put in place to spice up our lives. As such, it is never perfect in the way we want. It is just like a pendulum- swings from one direction to the other. At times, it may even swing to the direction that is not our desire or in the opposite direction that we wanted. This is the law of nature.

Both ways are equally good if you look at it from the right perspective. Some of you may still wonder why I say so. This is because if it swings to the direction you want, then you need to congratulate yourself because it indicates that you are taking the right path. However, when it swings against the way you want, then be not too sad about it. This is because it indicates to you that this is not the right path and you need to alter your paths if you still want to pursue the success you want.

By now, you can see clearly why I say you should enjoy both ways and not let issues such as problems, stress, failures, fear and worries to define and control you. Be mindful that it will make you captive and you cannot escape from it, if you are not careful.

Through the years, I have learned life is precious and determined to appreciate every moment of it. As such, make our lives with more spices. This is the way our intended purpose of passing these benefits to our blog readers, in a way to lift you up and let you shine your life like us. We can try all possible means, but to be effective, you have to act on your part. Otherwise, sad to say that no one can help you. We are not rude to you here, but to let you know the truth. Hope you understand our intention.

I must admit that the following sound very familiar to me. I do not know about you. I recalled when I was a child, I cannot wait to be a man. Now, I am a man but sigh for the lost happiness of childhood days at one time. When I was unmarried, I was worried about how to get married. Fortunately, all these are my past and never want to repeat this mistake anymore.

Today, I view life as a journey with challenges along the way. I will live my life with viable solutions to overcome them, just like any sailor who sail their ships in ocean and chose not to anchor it at the harbour because it is never created for that intention in the first place.

However, for those who comprehend that there is a way to deal with those problems, fears, worries and other things that upset them. Then, I congratulate them.

However, I like to share some of tips where you can employ to overcome your problems.

1. Confront Your Problems

What is the best way of solving our problem? Avoiding or escaping problems by using drugs and drinking alcoholic drinks definitely will not help solve problems permanently. The problem will not disappear by itself, until unless you find a way to confront and conquer it, once and for all. Let face it, we won’t be given a problem far beyond our capability. Sometimes delays in facing it may bring greater adverse outcomes.

2. Confide it with a trusted person

Telling it to someone, you are comfortable with and trusted, will ease your problem. You may do so with family, relatives, or friends. Talk it out to someone whom you believe can help you to lighten your burden.

3. Smile and laugh it out

Smiling generally gives positive impact to any person. It cannot solve the problem by itself, but make it much easier to solve problems than for the one who does not smile. Optimism will widen the window of your eyes. Believe that there are no insurmountable problems at all. Trust I, problems that come your way will always have its accompanying solutions. Be more positive and vigilant.

Similarly laughing it out will be another useful way to ease problems. It will also relieve yourself from unnecessary tension/pressure. Otherwise you will be drained out and unnecessarily creating more harm to you. Be mindful that stress is number one silent killer nowadays.

4. Count your blessings

Always count your blessings and not your woes. We need to stay positive no matter what situation we are in. You may think that it is easier said than done. We cannot expect sunny day daily, but we can still enjoy rainy and cloudy days. Be mindful of the saying, “I complained that I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet.” It well illustrates the point that there are people who may be experiencing worse problems compared to what we are experiencing now. So, make good use of the saved complaining time to do something better for yourself. That is our point.

5. Generous in helping of those in need

Making good use of your time in helping other people will bring you happiness. This is an old Chinese saying. This will also make you feel good and be useful to the society which you have been benefiting from. Giving is always better than receiving.

6. Do a review/ reflection when necessary

Obviously, problems come and go. What had caused you to burst into tears towards anger will soon be forgotten tomorrow. When you reflect on your past problems, you will be surprised to find how foolish you are if you continue to be unhappy. You should realize, by now that you can put unhappiness to an end by doing or thinking something else. You can choose to stay happy or be unhappy.

Trust today's discussion is of great assistance to you.

Thanks and look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to share with us some of your experience which we may not be aware of.
