So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
-- Matthew 10:31 --
Sparrows are one of the most commonest of birds in the world. There are a number of different sparrow species too. The one in Matthew 10:31 that Jesus was referring to is most likely the Dead Sea Sparrow and they are common in various continents in the world too.
Before I start to bore you with the various aspects of the sparrow and since I am not a sparrow expert myself, let us just consider in context what Jesus said about sparrows - two verses before Matthew 10:31.
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?
Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. (Matthew 10:29) From this verse, you would gather that sparrows are not considered an expensive item and are not exotic pets either. Everyone could probably afford to own one. Yet, Jesus is trying to derive an important principle here. Sparrows, though they lack in monetary worth and their lives seeming unimportant, is still important to God.
God provides for birds so that none of them would literally starve to death and fall to the ground. Birds neither have to worry nor toil. In the simplicity of their tiny brains, they know that they do not need to worry about life. Their lives are in the hands of God!
Now back to Matthew 10:31.
Jesus is saying that we are worth less than a sparrow. No, that is not what He said although we are, at times, tempted to think in that way. Jesus said, we are worth more than many sparrows. Many, many, many sparrows. In fact, you are beyond worth… so much so, that the Son of God is willing to die for your sins.
Can you see how precious you are to God? If so, why are we concerned with so many things in the world? Why are we concerned with the things that are beyond our control and yet they are within God’s control? Why do we consider ourselves less than sparrows?
So, have faith this day that God loves you and cares for you more than you can ever imagine. With this confidence, there is nothing in life that you need to be afraid of. So, don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
So, do not worry anymore. Pray, supplication and give thank to Him always.

11 PEOPLE ON A ROPE
11 people were hanging on a rope under a helicopter, 10 men AND 1 woman.
The rope was not strong enough to carry them all, so they decided that one had to leave, because otherwise they were all going to fall. They were unable to decide who would let go, until the woman gave a very touching speech.
She said that she would voluntarily let go of the rope, because, as a woman, she was used to giving up everything for her husband and kids and for men in general, and was used to always making sacrifices with little in return. (too true!)
As soon as she finished her speech, all the men started clapping......

I am a Christian
"Christian"By Maya Angelou
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean living."
I'm whispering "I was lost,"
Now I'm found and forgiven.
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need CHRIST to be my guide.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need HIS strength to carry on.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am worth it.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain,I have my share of heartaches. So I call upon His name.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace, somehow.

CONTENTMENT
Have you ever, at any one time, had the feeling that life is bad, real bad, and you wish you were in another situation?
You find life make things difficult for you, work sucks, life sucks, everything seems to go wrong...
Read the following story... it may change your views about life:
After a conversation with one of my friends, he told me despite taking 2 jobs, he brings back barely above 1 thousand per month, he is happy as he is. I wonder how he can be as happy as he is considering he has to skimp his life with the low pay to support a pair of old parents, in-laws, a wife, 2 daughters and the many bills of a household.
He explained that it was through one incident that he saw in India.........that happened a few years ago when he was really feeling low and touring India after a major setback. He said that right in front of his very eyes he saw an Indian mother chop off her child's right hand with a chopper. The helplessness in the mother's eyes, the scream of pain from the innocent 4-year-old child haunted him until today.
You may ask why did the mother do so; had the child been naughty, had the child's hand been infected??
No, it was done for two simple words- - - TO BEG!
The desperate mother deliberately caused the child to be handicapped so that the child could go out to the streets to beg.
Taken aback by the scene, he dropped a piece of bread he was eating half-way. And almost instantly, a flock of 5 or 6 children swamped towards this small piece of bread which was covered with sand, robbing bits from one another.
The natural reaction of hunger. Stricken by the happenings, he instructed his guide to drive him to the nearest bakery. He arrived at two bakeries and bought every single loaf of bread he found in the bakeries.
The owner was dumb founded but willingly sold everything. He spent less than $100 to obtain about 400 loaves of bread (this is less than $0.25 per loaf) and spent another $100 to get daily necessities.
Off he went in the truck full of bread into the streets. As he distributed the bread and necessities to the children (mostly handicapped) and a few adults, he received cheers and bows from these unfortunate.
For the first time in his life he wondered how people can give up their dignity for a loaf of bread which cost less than $0.25.
He began to tell himself how fortunate he is. How fortunate he is to be able to have a complete body, have a job, have a family, have the chance to complain what food is nice and what isn't nice, have the chance to be clothed, have the many things that these people in front of him are deprived of...
Now I begin to think and feel it, too! Was my life really that bad? Perhaps... no, I should not feel bad at all... What about you?
Maybe the next time you think you are, think about the child who lost one hand to beg on the streets.
"Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, it is the realization of how much you already have."
When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.
It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can't go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
Please share this message to those people who mean something to you, to those who have touched your life in one way or another, to those who make you smile when you really need it, to those that make you see the brighter side of things when you are really down, to those who you want to let them know that you appreciate their friendship.
And if you don't, don't worry, nothing bad will happen to you, you will just miss out on the opportunity to brighten someone's day.
Carry the cross
whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine,
after the rain ....
Perhaps you may stumble,
perhaps even fall,
But God's always ready,
To answer your call ...
He knows every heartache,
sees every tear,
A word from His lips,
can calm every fear ...
Your sorrows may linger,
throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish,
in dawn's early light ...
The Savior is waiting,
somewhere above,
To give you His grace,
and send you His love...
Whatever your cross,
whatever your pain,
"God always sends rainbows .... after the rain ... "
To get out of difficulty,
To get out of difficulty,
one must usually go through it!
That's the way;
That's the way;
His way;
the righteous way and the perfect way;
so do follow His way.

How smart the donkey is
One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbours to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.
At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!
MORAL :Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.
Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive..
2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.
3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.
The reward you will getting is far beyong your imagination. Sow it and you will reap it one day.
See you online again.
Cheers and have a blessed day,
James

have a good laugh
Watching and waiting to catch speeding drivers, a Traffic Officer saw a car puttering along the highway at 22 MPH. He taught this driver is just as dangerous as a speeder. So, he decided to pull the driver over.
After approached the car, he noticed that there are five elderly ladies – two in the front and three at the back- eyes wide and white like ghosts.
The driver, obviously confused and said to him, “Officer, I don’t understand, I was doing exactly the speed limit! What seems to be the problem?”
“ Ma’am,” the officer replied, “You weren’t speeding, but you should know that driving slower than the speed limit can also be danger to other users.”
“Slower than the speed limit?’’ she asked. “No sir, I was doing the speed limit exactly… Twenty-Two miles an hour!” the old woman says a bit proudly. The Traffic officer, trying to contain a chuckle explains to her that “22” was the route number, not the speed limit. A bit embarrassed, the lady grinned and thanked the officer for pointing out her error.
“But before I let you go, Ma’am, I have to ask… Is everyone in this car ok? These ladies seem awfully shaken and they haven’t muttered a single peep this whole time.” The officer asked.
“Oh, they’ll be alright in a minute, officer. We just got off Route 119.”

Patience is rewarding
Patience is one of the attributes of great leadership. Without it, enduring leadership is impossible. Persistence is enduring and stubborn. It does not mean sitting back and doing nothing. On the contrary, patience means always doing the very best you can do, while understanding that the results you seek will not come immediately.
Patience is the acknowledgement that the quality of life is much more important than the quantity of things to be filled in. Patience is the willingness to accept what is now while putting all you have into creating the best that can be.
Here, you can clearly see that it is not only saves you money. It also saves time, reduces stress, and improves your relationships. The rewarding is so great that you should not overlook this fine point.
With patience, you can understand thing much better and be understood as well as both work hand in hand. Therefore, the persistent man with a poor plan stands a better chance of winning than the man with a perfect plan who hesitates and wavers in carrying it out.
Looking at life with patience, you may discover rich treasures of it that you otherwise never would have known about. Living with patience, you develop the persistence to create great and valuable things.
Make use of the available opportunities in your life to practice patience so as you will live fully and richly.
Wish you a great success,

The wise thing you should do
An elderly man in Mumbai calls his son in New York and says, 'I hate to ruin your day son, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are getting a divorce; 35 years of marriage... and that much misery is enough!'
'Dad, what are you talking about?' the son screams.
'We can't stand the sight of each other any longer,' the old man says. 'We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Hong Kong and tell her!'
Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone. 'Like heck they're getting divorced,' she shouts, 'I'll take care of this.' She calls Mumbai immediately, and screams at the old man, 'You are not getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm calling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then , don't do a thing, DO YOU HEAR??' and she hangs up.
The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife. 'Okay', he says, 'It's all set. They're both coming for Deepavali and paying their own airfare!!'
MORAL: No man / woman is busy in this world all 365 days. The sky is not going to fall down if you take few days LEAVE and meet your dear ones.
OFFICE WORK IS NOT EVERYTHING IN LIFE and MONEY MAKING IS NOT EVERYTHING IN LIFE.
Happy moments, praise God. Difficult moments, seek God. Quiet moments, worship God. Painful moments, trust God. Every moment, thank God.
This is the greatest thing you should do since all else fail to lift up to your life. So, spend times with your loved ones.
Good news
From my previous article you have been made to realize that Money can’t buy so many things in life.
Now, I have a good news for you - whatever money can’t buy, Jesus Christ gives you freely without charge if you believe in Him.
If Christ is your Savior, you need not be dominated by worry over earthly things. Instead, be ruled by Christ and His spiritual riches. You will experience a rare situation where money cannot buy as described in 1 Timothy 6:6 : Goodliness with contentment is great gain.
So, give God all your financial worries right now.
May I sum up with the following phrases:-
The contented person is never poor;
The discontented is never rich.
May God give you grace and peace forever. Amen
